Highly unlikely, but I’d let them have that shred of hope.
“I don’t want her trying to get to that asshole’s computer,” Bash gritted. “It’s not worth the risk. We know what he is. Let’s end this shit.”
“We need proof to clear our name. The future of the Sinners depends on it,” Rand said solemnly.
“He’s right. If we don’t have proof that we didn’t try to assassinate Bobby, Gio will never want to work with us. We’ll always be at each other’s throats,” Eli added.
My phone buzzed with a text.
Kane: Where are you?
I had to appreciate a man who spelled out “are” and “you” while texting.
“It’s Kane. He wants to know where I am.”
“Can he be trusted?” Eli asked Bash.
I looked at him and he smirked. “Yeah, I think he has Killer’s best interests at heart.”
“Okay, have him come over. We can try to explain some things. Maybe having him in the know will help keep you safe.”
I dialed Kane because I didn’t trust Dad wouldn’t read my messages somehow–even though I had my own cell plan.
“Where are you?” He asked again when he answered.
“Hello to you too. I’m at the clubhouse.”
“TheSinners’clubhouse?”
“Yes…I might stay here tonight. I don’t want to go home.”
“Wait, are you there with Bash? I’m so fucking confused.”
“Yeah I’m here with him.” I kept the details minimal because I knew it would drive him crazy.
“Oh,” he said defeatedly. Silence filled the space between us. “You can stay here. With me.”
“I thought I wasn’tallowed in your house,” I said as I downed the rest of my beer. I nodded to Bash for another since he was still behind the bar.
“Dani, please. Just come here. I can pick you up. I don’t want you staying there. It’s not safe for you to be hanging out with them.”
My heart was being pulled in two directions. On one hand, I wanted nothing more than to stay with Kane. I wanted to pretend like the last week never happened.
But it happened.
And I was still pissed at him for being such a jerk.
“I know I’ve been a jerk, but I need to see you. I need you to stay with me,” he said, breaking into my thoughts and reading my mind.
“Okay, but you need to know a few things first.”

“Well, fuck,”Isaidto the room full of bikers.
I never thought I’d be at the Savage Sinners’ clubhouse listening to their president tell me all the sordid details of their business dealings, but here I am.
