"I hope Rose wins," Snow Bird muttered.
For half an hour, they rolled on the floor, and then finally gave out and laid opposite each other on the floor.
Rose got up, "You leave my men alone."
"Men?" Kat got up and stared at her. "You have more than one?"
"I do, stay away from them." She warned her.
"You slut!" Kat sneered.
Rose turned around and backhanded her so hard she fell, and her mouth started bleeding. "Don't you ever call me that again. These men are raunchy they need a woman and I am here for them. That's all. You mind your own business, and everything will be fine There's plenty of men to go around."
"You tell her Rosie," one of the men cheered her on.
Rose blushed and smiled at him.
Kat walked off, rubbing her cheek and frowning at Rose.
Willis hadn't even gotten up off his blanket to watch them. "Might be a good idea to leave her men alone." He told her.
"She's a bitch, and that old lady, a busybody, and then there is that squaw. I wonder what he sees in her."
"Leave it alone, Kat, they are married and she's pregnant. I won't let you bust a family up. That's going too far. There's plenty of men here, you don't need him."
"He's younger," she smiled sexily at Matt. "And cleaner too!"
Willis eyed her for a minute. "I guess he is, but you're my girl. And I'm telling you to stay away. We don't want no trouble here. We might have to come back next year. I want to be welcome here."
"It's not like she's a real woman, she's an Indian, for goodness sake."
He stared at her, "Come here."
He pulled her roughly down to him, covered them with a blanket then made love to her for nearly an hour.
Kat was noisy and rude with her moans and groans. Other men turned away from her, knowing she wanted an audience. She didn't hide herself like Snow Bird, instead by morning, more of her was falling out from the blanket than in.
And there was a lot of men looking at her now.
Chapter Ten
Rose and Kat fought for nigh on to a month then Margaret got hold of them both by the hair and pulled them to the center of the room, loudly proclaiming. "There are enough men here for every woman, so stop fighting as though there weren't. If you can't stop fighting, you'll have to leave."
Margaret turned loos of them and stared at them with a frown.
The room was very quiet, no one said a word. Margaret looked at the two women who were ready to scratch each other's eyes out. She shook her head vehemently when they tried to go at it again. "I'm warning you both right now. Settle out, learn to get along, or I'll throw you out of here, myself."
"You're right of course, but I got my sights set on that one over there," Kat nodded toward Matt. "You ever had him, Rose?"
Rose looked to Matt then shook her head. She glanced at Margaret first though. "Margaret's right about that. Leave him alone. They are different. They are a family."
"Why?" Kat asked turning an instant smile on Matt when he heard his name mentioned.
Rose glanced at Matt and Snow Bird and then snickered, "They're in love, don't you know that by now? She's with child. I wouldn’t mess with them."
"Love?"
"Yeah, love," Margaret repeated. "And I'm sure it isn't love driving you toward him. Look, there are plenty of men, willing men, stick with your own kind, or there will be trouble.
