“Not crazy at all. Smart. Cautious. Wise. But not crazy.”
I smile. “Okay.”
He tugs me from the closet to the bed. “Let’s take a nap before dinner.”
I grin. “No Netflix and chill?”
“Oh, we can most definitely do that, too.”
Kicking off my shoes, I strip down to my bra and panties and then dive under the covers. He watches me before doing the same. I snuggle against him in the bed as we get comfortable.
Henri cradles me, tracing circles on my arm. “Are you happy?”
“I am.” I think back to the sadness in Maurice’s eyes as he left earlier. “I just wish Maurice would give me a chance.”
“Mo’s had a hard life. He’s more sensitive than me and Luca and was punished for it. Give him time. He’ll come around.”
I kiss his chest. “I hope you’re right.”
“I know my cousin. He likes you.”
“Good. Because I like him as much as I like you and Luca.” Peering up at him, I ask, “Is it weird that we all might be in a relationship?”
He smiles down at me. “No.”
“I was shocked when I met the girls today and found out they’re each in relationships with multiple men. It hit me that maybe Luca wanted me to meet them so I could see that it’s not so strange.”
“That was part of it, for sure. He wanted you to meet them because they are the wives of the most powerful men in the city. You are now with the last unmarried man in that group. Knowing those women will help you.”
My cheeks feel warm, and I sit. “Does he want to marry me?”
“Luca always said he’d never get married, but I think you’re making him reconsider a lot of things. Does that bother you?”
I shake my head. “No.”
“I will pass that along.”
Laughing, I playfully punch his shoulder. “Such a mean Daddy.”
He groans. “Fuck. I’ve waited a long time to hear you say that again.”
“What? Daddy?”
He nods. “I know the day we messed around; you had been through a lot. I wasn’t sure if you were just caught up in the moment or if it’s something you’re in to.”
“Oh, I’m definitely into it. I don’t think I’ve ever been that wet before.” I laugh. “And you better not tell Luca that, because he’ll prove me wrong.”
“My lips are sealed. But only because I’ve missed my little girl.”
“Is that so? Then I have one thing to say.” Leaning forward, I nip his ear lobe. “Give me more than the tip this time, Daddy.”

The next three weeks are filled with more happiness than I thought humanly possible. Each day I get to know Luca, Henri, and even Maurice a bit more. My nights are spent with Luca or Henri. We’re all at breakfast when I clear my throat.
“Luca, I’m in love with you.”
