Vlad looked like a Viking returning victorious from a fight.

“The poor girl just started here, Vlad. Shouldn’t you give her a few weeks to acclimate before you ruin her dreams?”

“I think she could be the one, Cuz,” Max grinned.

“You’re an asshole,” I laughed.

“An asshole with a date.”

“Whatever. Here, I got you a beer.”

Vlad took a healthy glug of the ice-cold beer.

“Damn, that’s good,” he said and wiped the foam from his stubble. “Okay, now let’s talk about the real reason you’re all over the place, shall we?”

I pretended not to know what he was talking about.

“What do you mean?”

“Oh, come now, Max. I’ve known you all your life. You may as well spill the beans.”

“Nothing to tell.”

“So, you don’t want to talk about a certain blonde with a seriously hot ass, do you?”

“Is there anything you don’t see?”

“Nope. Spill it, Mildred.”

“Okay, I’ll admit the girl has me in a tizz. Can you blame me? You’ve seen her.”

“Of course. I’m a heterosexual male. I’d have to be blind not to notice her. She’s fucking unbelievable, Max. But you did say you would never crap where you eat. Or did I imagine that?”

“No. I said it.”

“What changed your mind?”

“I can’t help it. She’s, my kryptonite. I can’t help myself.”

“How does she feel?”

“I’m pretty sure she’s into me, too.”

“Does she know about the boys back home?”

“Fuck no.”

“She’s not going to be impressed when she finds out. The woman may have an ass like a drum, but she’s a lawyer. She’s gonna figure it out.”

“No, she won’t. She’s not an accountant.”

“I don’t know, Max. I’d be careful if I were you. Sex is one thing. But we’re talking about prison time here.”

“I wish I’d never agreed to Grigoriy’s fucking offer.”

“I don’t see how else he would have let us leave Russia. You didn’t have a choice.”

“I suppose you’re right. The fucker owns us.”
