“She really does purr like a kitten after coming.” Barrett stroked my back after shifting me on his lap and kissed the side of my head. “I love you, Sugar.”

“I love you, too.” I felt one of them cleaning me with a warm cloth and sighed happily. “It’s just that pregnancy is hard, you know? Chocolate would help.”

Dominic grunted. “You can have chocolate, Sugar. Just not that much. As soon as these babies pop out, I’ll feed you chocolate whenever you want it. I’ll cover my body in chocolate and let you have your way with me. The doctor said to be careful right now, though.”

“You’d cover yourself in chocolate?” For some reason, the thought made me tear up. “For me?”

Holden laughed from next to us. “Are you crying, tesorina?”

I sniffed. “It’s just…I love chocolate and I love y’all. I’d never considered combining them. It’s…it’s beautiful, and now I’ve got to wait three months for it.”

Barrett dropped his head back on the couch, his smile evident as he spoke. “We created a monster.”

“Oh!” Tears forgotten, I sat up. “I heard Reba get robbed by a seagull today. I could literally hear the phone getting higher and Reba’s screams getting farther away. She was trying to tell me that Dad harassed a publisher about my blog over breakfast. And then the seagull just…robbed her.”

My giggle was drowned out by the sound of Dominic laughing. I might’ve even called it guffawing if I didn’t think it’d make him get all moody. Whatever it was, it was one of my favorite sounds in the world, right up there with Barrett’s singing and Holden’s loud kitchen noises. It was almost as good as chocolate.Almost.
