Gunfire ripped across the terrace. Screams broke out. The loud music drowned most of it out.

Hadley ducked down behind the overturned table, and saw guests dropping to the ground. Nearby, one man was hit in the leg and collapsed.

Shit.Shit.

Hadley reached under her dress and pulled out her handgun.

“Five shooters. Four male, one female.” Hex coolly rattled off their descriptions.

“Killian, don’t lose Kitty,” Hadley said.

“You just make sure you don’t get killed,” Killian barked. “I’ve got Kitty.”

There was more gunfire. Shit, there were kids here.

Hadley popped up and fired. She clipped one man and he staggered.

She ducked back down, just as more gunfire ripped up the area around her.

Hell. She was pinned, and now they had her location. There were more shots. She peered to the side and saw Bram behind a stone wall, firing on the shooters. She spotted Killian standing nearby, gun up and aimed.

He wasn’t in cover, like his own badassness would stop the bullets.

One gunman jerked, and she saw that the shot had hit him right between the eyes.

Damn, Killian was good.

More automatic gunfire sprayed the party, and wild screams erupted.

“They’re not aiming to kill,” Hadley said. “They’re the distraction.”

“Kitty is still crouched in the garden,” Killian said.

Where are you, Westley?

Hadley tried to shift, but bullets peppered her hiding place, thudding into the thick table.

“Looks like you guys need a little help.” The amused masculine voice cut across their earpieces.

Hadley froze. She didn’t recognize the voice. What the hell?

“Who the fuck are you?” Hex snapped.

“The man who hacked your comms line, baby.”

“What?” Hex sounded outraged. “No one hacks my line!”

“It wasn’t easy,” the man said, “but luckily I like a challenge.”

“Who are you, motherfucker?” Hex demanded.

“Hmm, feisty. I like that too.”

Hadley saw movement, a flash of red.

She swiveled her head and saw a woman in a long, red dress sprinting into the party.

Her dark red hair was pulled back in a slicked back hair style, and bold makeup accented her striking features.
