Ahead, he heard the murmur of voices. He strode under the archway into Hex’s lair. The giant interactive screen was filled with information. He’d ordered a screen just like it for the Secura office.

Bram and Matteo “Hades” Mancini stood with their arms crossed, reading the screen.

Hex spotted him. She had a small earpiece resting on one ear. “Hottie billionaire, you’re looking fine today.”

“Right back at you, hottie hacker.”

She grinned. Her hair had extra pink streaks in it today. She wore jeans and a green T-shirt with the Android logo on the front of it. The Android robot eating the Apple logo.

“Knightley,” Bram rumbled.

Bennett lifted his chin at the man.

“How’s your new office?” Matteo asked.

“Coming along. Painters are busy in there. I wanted to see if you guys were keen for some after-work drinks.”

He was trying to make a habit of not working long hours, and going out for drinks at least once a week.

It was easy to do now that he had Hadley to come home to.

“I am.” Hex raised her hand. “We’ve hit a wall with the current case. I’ve got searches set up to run overnight.”

“I’ll call Gabbi,” Matteo said. “She’s out running down something for another case.”

“Nick and Lainie?” Bennett asked. Over the last few weeks, he’d become good friends with all the Sentinel Security members and their partners.

“On a jet to Chicago,” Hex said. “Lainie has some deal on, so Nick tagged along.”

Bram made a sound. “Man can’t stay away from her.” He cleared his throat. “I can’t make it.” The man looked even more unhappy than usual. “I have…stuff.” He ambled out.

Hex stared after Bram. “Something is really wrong with him. I’ve asked him what’s bothering him, but all I get is a grunt.”

Matteo gripped her shoulder and squeezed. “He’ll share when he’s ready.”

“And where’s my lovely girlfriend?” Bennett asked.

“In Killian’s office,” Hex said. “They’re talking with MI6 about something. They should be almost finished.”

Bennett headed that way, but Hadley strode out, saw him and smiled.

“Hello, Mr. Knightley.”

“Hello, Ms. Lockwood.” He dropped a kiss to her mouth. “I missed you today.” He breathed in her citrus and floral perfume.

She fiddled with the collar of his shirt. “I missed you too. Everything good at the office?”

He nodded. “We’re heading for drinks with the gang.”

“Sounds good. Then I recall I promised you a cooking lesson tonight.”

He nipped her earlobe. “Only if my teacher is wearing that bodysuit I got her last week.”

“Bennett, it’s little more than a ribbon and two strips of silk.”

“I know. I can’t wait to see you in it.” Then take her out of it, and touch her, kiss her, make her scream his name.

She shook her head, but she was smiling, so he figured the odds were in his favor.
