Savage waved as he walked away. Rage dropped his bag outside of the office door and knocked on the doorjamb, getting everyone’s attention. They came forward to pound on his back as a sign of affection.
“It’s about fucking time, man,” Traeger said.
“I’m glad to be home.”
“Fuck, did you roll in a field?” Ax asked.
Rage laughed. “Fuck off.”
“We’re glad you’re back. Why don’t you get cleaned up? Dinner should be ready in the next hour,” Fury said.
“I wouldn’t miss it. I haven’t had any decent food since I left here.” He picked up his bag and headed upstairs.
In his room, Rage undressed and threw the clothes in the basket to wash later. He stayed in the shower for twenty minutes because it felt so good, and he washed himself twice.
Rage ran his fingers through his hair to tame it, dressed in clean clothes, and headed back downstairs. He stood in the kitchen doorway and watched the women work and laugh. He could tell they loved being here and taking care of the men. Damn, he missed this, and it was even better when Harley started laughing. He watched her carefully when he finally stepped into the room.
“Hi, ladies,” he said.
Every woman gasped and smiled.
“We’re so glad you’re back,” Amelia said.
Harley stood back, but he could see the happiness on her face, which gave him hope.
“Are you hungry?” Lindsey asked.
Rage grinned. “Hell, yeah.”
“We’re just getting set up, so give us a minute,” Tara said.
“No problem.”
His gaze never left Harley as she stirred something on the stove. The one decision he made on the road was he was going to pursue her the way he always wanted to from the beginning. Oh, he knew he went slow before and didn’t come on too strong because of what she went through with her ex. But she’d had time to get over it, and she didn’t seem to have any fear of the men.
He walked around the women, pressed up against Harley’s back, and steadied her with a hand on her hip. She stiffened immediately. “Easy, I want some time with you after dinner. Can you give me some?”
“Oh, I … well…”
“We need to connect with each other, babe. I fucked up and admit that, but I want to make up for it.”
“But—”
Rage pressed his lips to her neck. “I’m not going to wait any longer,” he said. He heard her breath hitch in her throat and her body soften against his.
“I’m … I don’t know…”
“Let’s put it this way. If you run, I will find you,” he whispered against her ear. “I can feel your response to me, so I know you want me just like I want you. We’re not going to fight it anymore.”
He was pleased to feel her shiver. Her breathing deepened when he placed his hand over her stomach and pressed her back against him.
“After dinner, babe,” he said against her shoulder.
She nodded.
He pressed his lips to the back of her head and moved away, then grabbed the plate of food Zoe handed him.
Rage noticed the protective looks from the women, and it pleased him even though Harley never had anything to be afraid of with him.
