“Hey, man. Are you sure you want to kill the whore?” Dre asked.

“I want to more than anything,” Rage said.

Fury snorted. “It’s up to you. We’ll deal with any backlash.”

Rage stopped when she was buried at her waist. He crouched down. “I wish I could see your blood all over my hands or see you fight for air. I’ll let you live for now. A few of my brothers will take you home and bring your car. You will die if you ever mess with another MC or tell anyone about this. Not even your slut friends.”

Dana nodded. “I swear, I won’t.”

“You better not because this here’s child’s play compared to what I’ll do if I find out you have.” Rage nodded to Ax. “Get her out of here.”

“You got it.” Ax jumped into the hole and yanked her up to her feet before throwing her out of the hole. It was pretty satisfying to hear her pain as she landed on the hard earth with her arms still tied behind her back and unable to break her fall. Bear grabbed her and started dragging her toward the truck they had brought.

Rage started filling in the hole, and a few of the guys helped until all the dirt was back in.

“We’ll need to remember this,” Traeger said. “I think it would be a great way to get information from people.”

Fury laughed. “It’s a thought.” He turned to Rage. “Are you headed home?”

Rage wiped a hand down his face and shook his head. “Not yet.”

Fury nodded and handed him a wad of money. “We’ll be waiting. Please try not to kill anyone.”

Rage chuckled. “I’ll do my best.”

He watched his brothers drive off before getting on his bike and heading in the opposite direction. He just needed space to clear his head and time to calm down. Rage knew he was too close to the edge, and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt anyone in the family.

He’d just take a few days and see how he felt.

Chapter Eight

Harley spent her days and part of her nights with the women. After going to bed at night, the lonely hours made her feel solitary and sad.

Her life had become nothing she’d ever thought it would, and that was okay because she was happy most of the time. She tried to talk herself out of wanting a family—a man to call her own that treated her right and maybe kids down the road. The problem was that the only man she could see herself with was Rage, which wasn’t possible anymore. Amelia told her about the condoms and Dana, but it didn’t matter. Rage wasn’t for her, and she needed to come to grips with it.

Ever since Dana was caught, Rage had been gone. Amelia told her he needed to get his head on straight, and then he’d come home. That was three weeks ago.

Harley spent her time between the kitchen and the store. She liked to keep busy, and there was always plenty to do. It was her night to work the store. She enjoyed the men who came in to talk to her and always felt safe with them. There were always a few watching over her.

She was wiping up the counter when the supply truck drove in. No one had told her they were getting a shipment, but there would be men down to help.

“Hey, Harley,” Crush said as he pinned the double doors open. “We got this.”

“Thanks, Crush.”

Eight guys were unloading, which wouldn’t take long. She started to cut open boxes and set them in place. She heard the overhead door of the truck slam shut, then turned to see Dre signing something with the driver. She didn’t know what caught her eye and didn’t get a good look at the guy. Within a few minutes, the truck was driving off. Shrugging it off, she got to work.

“Hey, girl,” Chelsea said as she walked toward her. “I thought I’d come down and help. We’re going to play cards after you’re done, and we hope you’ll join us.”

“Thanks, I would love to,” Harley said.

“Where the fuck is she?” someone yelled.

Chelsea snorted and rolled her eyes, making Harley smile.

“Jesus Christ.” She stood. “I’m over here, babe.”

“I thought I told you I wanted to talk to you,” Crush said.
