Atticus turns his attention from me to his brother. “Well, he’s not dead, so there’s that.”
“I guess. We’re going to get a bad reputation if we’re not careful.”
Atticus doesn’t seem worried. Instead, he’s looking at me again.
This time I ask, “What?”
“Just thinking.”
“About?”
He smirks. “You don’t want to know.”
Oh, but now I kind of do. Except, I’m a coward, so I stand.
“I’m going to find Finn. See if he needs any help.”
And then I get the heck out of that room where Atticus’ scent surrounds me.

Oliver
“Don’t know if I’ve ever seen you so into a woman before.”
Atticus shrugs. “She’s different.”
“Yeah, she is.” I pause. “Think she likes us?”
“I hope so, because I like her.”
“What are we going to do about it?”
Because my brother always has a plan.
“First, we’re going to get Wolfe and bring him to an end. Then we’re going to see how Goldie feels about being with all three of us.”
“So you’re willing to share?”
He dips his head. “I think it’s the only way this will work. I’ve seen how both of you look at her. If she’s okay with being with all three of us, then I think this might work out beautifully.”
“And if she doesn’t?”
He frowns. “We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”
Poor Atticus. He’s not a fan of not being in control. I don’t push the issue, but it’s something we all need to think about. She might like us, but liking us and wanting to be with us are two entirely separate things.

Goldie
After Finn fixes the security camera, we go back to their house.
Oliver says, “Come with me. I think I have a cord that will fit your phone.”
I follow him to his messy room. He goes to a drawer, digging around.
“Good lord, Oliver, how do you find anything in here?”
