“Shirts with crazy patterns on them.”

“You got me there.”

I grin. “Maybe I’ll buy you a shirt before I leave.”

“I’d like that.”

He looks down at me, his gaze settling on my lips. For the second time in a very short amount of time, I hope he kisses me. But what if I’m bad at it?

“Goldie?”

“Yeah?”

“I’m going to kiss you. Okay?”

I nod. “Uh, sure.”

Smooth, Goldie. Real smooth.

But my awkwardness doesn’t deter him. He leans in, brushing his lips against mine. How does he get his lips so soft? I’ll have to ask him when—

He pulls back. Wait. It’s over?

“Goldie?”

“Yeah?”

“Stop thinking so much.”

“I’m not. I—”

I don’t have time to finish speaking because his mouth covers mine in a kiss that takes my breath away. My lips part and he takes siege of my mouth, licking and tasting until I’m moaning. Holy crap. I get all the fuss over kissing. I really do. Tentatively, I try kissing him back. When he doesn’t pull away, screaming it’s terrible, I do it again. Soon, I feel like I’ve found my groove. My making-out groove. Oh yeah!

I’m not sure how long we sit there, kissing, but when he pulls away, I feel dizzy and warm and this time it has nothing to do with blood loss.

“Wow. That was…wow.”

He grins. “I agree.

“Best first kiss ever.”

He stills. Shit. Did I say that?

I laugh. “Uh, with you. Best first kiss withyou. I’ve been kissed before. Obviously. I do all the kissing all the time.”

Why can’t I shut up?

His lips twitch. “All the kissing? Hmm. Should I be jealous?”

“No. Well, maybe. I don’t know. Should you?”

He laughs. “If you’re kissing one of my brothers, then I won’t be jealous.”

“You’d…you’d be okay with me kissing them, but not someone else?”

He nods. “Yeah.”

“But shouldn’t it be the other way around? Like, your brothers are off limits?”
