When the doors of the chapel finally swing open and I can see Micah, my first instinct is to run to him. That will always be my instinct when I see him.
He gives me a smile that’s blinding, lighting up the tiny auditorium.
I can’t help smiling back as I pledge to love and cherish this man. He promises the same to me, and the intensity in his gaze as he says those two words nearly brings me to my knees. He means them. For now and forever.
After the ceremony, he takes my hand and whispers in my ear, “I love you, Mrs. Kringle. You’ve always been mine. It’s just official now.”
I tug him toward the bridal suite while everyone is distracted. “Sneak away with me for a minute. We have more terms to negotiate, Mr. Kringle.”
His chuckle warms me all over. “I’d never argue with my bride.”
I can’t help grinning as I close the door behind us. He’s mine now, and I’m his, and our life together will always be an adventure. But our first adventure is starting right now in the bridal suite.
