It’s only been a few weeks!
Was I ready? I didn’t know, but I did know that I loved him, and I wanted to be with him. But marriage? It brought up all my old insecurities.
“Don’t worry, Cassie,” he said with a wink.
He lifted up a little ring box, and when he opened it, I saw there was a key inside.
“I love you, and I do want to marry you, but I want to do everything right this time, no rushing, no hastiness. First, I want to ask if you’ll make me the happiest man in the world and move in with me and Camilla?”
My mouth fell open, and tears welled in my eyes. “Really?” I asked.
“Really. You can stay here if you want, though,” he said, slowly closing the box, and I stopped him.
“No! I want to. I really really want to!”
My friends clapped as Brad stood, and I jumped into his arms.
He spun me around, and when he set me down, he said, “I love you so much.”
“I love you.” I put my hands on his chest. “Can’t wait to move in with you guys.” I felt Camilla’s hands wrapped around my legs.
“Can’t wait, Cassie!” she said, and with my arms wrapped around Brad, I was finally, at long last, completely and fully happy.
