A group of students stands clustered in the hallway, cheering as two football players toss a football back and forth down the hallway. Tripp glares as I walk by. Not that he’ll say anything. He might not like that I interfered, but he’s not stupid enough to challenge me.

Across the hall from the classroom are Daisy and her best friend, Zoe. My heart thuds in my chest. I might be able to get any girl on campus, but I don’t care about any other woman except mine.

“Do you realize when you see her, you quit breathing? Is that safe?”

“It only happens for a second.” Daisy’s gaze meets mine, and for a moment, everyone else disappears. I love this woman more than anything else in the world. She owns my heart, body, and soul.

Today, she’s wearing a short schoolgirl skirt and knee-high socks. Again. It’s one of my favorite outfits fromThe Ultimate Boyfriend Company. She’s paired it with a white button-down dress shirt and a cardigan sweater. The sweater is oversized, compared to one that’s painted on. They push off the wall, and Zoe winks as they walk toward me.

“You need to get your shit together.”

I frown as I unlock the door and open it for the students. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Cora speaks, but I don’t hear a word she says as I take in Daisy’s scent. Some type of vanilla and floral combination.

“You’re ridiculous,” Cora mutters.

“What?”

“You’re ignoring me. I should let you sink at your father’s company and make it a foregone conclusion. I sent you an email. I need you to sign it and forward it back to me. You need to solidify this relationship with this girl before you do something stupid.”

“Professor Taylor.” Daisy stares up at me with huge doe eyes, and I about swallow my tongue.

“Daisy.” I cough. No one pays any attention to us as the remaining students chat amongst themselves. The sound is slightly below a dull roar inside the cement walls of the classroom. “Thank you, Cora, I owe you.”

“Yes, you–”

I shut the phone and stuff it in my back pocket as I ready the materials for today’s lesson.

“Professor Taylor,” Heather purrs from behind me.

I spin on my heel to find her with her upper arms pressed together until her boobs almost pop out of her Vee cut T-shirt. The material is thin and does nothing to disguise her pointed nipples. The girl tries too damn hard.

She licks her lips and pokes out the bottom one. “How did I do?”

“Everyone will get their tests in a few moments. Go ahead and have a seat.”

“Asshole,” she mutters as she tromps down the aisle.

I shudder as visions of ending up with Heather at Wyatt’s wedding reception flood my consciousness. If Daisy wasn’t there, I could have easily gotten wasted and ended up in an entirely different situation. A nightmare versus a fantasy.

Ten minutes later, I’ve passed out the tests to everyone but Daisy.

When her fingers brush mine, I smile. “Thank you, Professor Taylor.” She glances down at the page, and then her head snaps back up. Her eyes are wide as her mouth drops open.

“Remember that feeling.”

She nods and snaps her lips together. And for once, I’m not talking about her open mouth wrapped around my dick. She aced the test and all on her own.

I return to the front of the classroom and face the students. “Okay, I’m going to give everyone the rest of the hour to use their books and notes to go over missed questions. You have the next thirty minutes to correct your answers and turn the pages in. Each correct response will earn you a 1/3 point. For some of you, that’s going to raise your score from an F to a D, so get busy.”

A collection of groans fills the room, but all heads go down, giving me a few minutes to sign the email and get it back to Cora. My phone dings and I swipe the screen, expecting it to be a thank you from Cora.

Daisy: I’ve been so busy. I forgot to do laundry last night. Do you like my outfit?

I don’t need to look to know how she looks. I’ve already memorized every stitch of her outfit.

Me: Yes, I love that color on you.
