“I’d move in tonight to be with you.”

“God,” I groan and grab her thighs, boosting her upward until her legs are wrapped around my waist. “I want you here, and I want to tell people we’re together.”

She threads her fingers through my hair. “I know. I want those things also. But it’ll be hard enough to convince people to give us a chance, once you aren’t my professor. Letting the cat out of the bag today would not go in our favor.”

I waggle my eyebrows. “But I’d love to let your cat out of the bag.”

“Now, that’s the best idea I’ve heard all day.” Her grin turns wicked. “It seems like I have an extra couple of hours. Oh, what will we do with the time?”

“I think I know,” I growl and press my lips against hers. The woman drives me beyond distraction. Our tongues mate in time with our groping hands as she wiggles against me and drops her feet to the floor. “I have something for you.”

“You do?”

She bites her bottom lip and eyes me up and down. “My filthy professor, go to the bedroom and wait.”

“Are you going to be a bad girl?” My dick twitches his approval of getting a future permanent house guest. Inviting her to move in is step one. Step two is marriage.

“A. Very. Bad. Girl.” Her fingertips run down my chest, past my abs, and she strokes up and down my shaft.

“Then, I’ll have to punish you.”

“Yes.” Her eyes glow with lust. “Yes, you will. Because I’m going to be a very bad girl.”

Chapter Thirty-Seven

Alexander

A Few Days Later

I snap the door shut to my office and rattle the lock to ensure it’s secured while juggling my bag, a cup of coffee in the other, and my cell phone propped between my shoulder and ear.

Trying to navigate grading tests, my responsibilities for my father’s company, fielding inquiries about my software designs, and finding time to sleep is impossible when every waking second is spent with Daisy or wishing I were with her. I’ve discovered the pitfalls of burning both ends of a candle at the same time. So, prepping for class without multitasking is impossible.

“I put the paperwork on your desk yesterday afternoon. When will you be in to sign it?”

“Shit,” I mutter and glance at my watch. Why in the hell am I looking at my watch? I have class in five minutes. There’s no way I can get to the office and back to the classroom in five minutes. Taking on these college classes was a mistake.

For one, I wouldn’t be hiding that I was seeing Daisy. And for two, I’d have more time to get my job done.

“As I suspected, Mr. Professor has too much going on. Why don’t you turn in your resignation to your father? And at the university?”

“Do you want out of a job?” I nod at one of the other professors and navigate along the hallway. The mixture of everyone’s perfume, cologne, and aftershave is overpowering.

“No.”

“Well, then, that’s why. We need the stability of his company. My business could dry up tomorrow.”

“Please.” The frustration in her voice is growing louder each day. But what if something goes wrong? I don’t want to let her down or Sean. By working for my father, I have the freedom to pursue my passion project fearlessly. I don’t want to ruin it by the pressure of working from a place of lack.

In front of me, a girl wearing black-rimmed glasses and Uggs blocks my path. And I only have four minutes until class. “Excuse me.”

“I’m sorry.” She spins around, and her eyes travel up and down my body. “Professor Taylor.” One corner of her mouth arches upward as she steps out of the way. “I should have been paying attention to my surroundings.”

“No problem.” I nod and brush past her.

“Professor Taylor.” Cora chuckles in my ear. “I bet you could get a girl every five minutes on that campus.”

“Probably.”
