“Please.” I nip his throat again, rocking against his hand. “Please, please, Sinath.”

As if he knows exactly what I’m asking for, he adjusts his hand. The heel of his palm presses down over my clit, and his finger pushes inside me again, thick and hard, and I moan with hunger. Oh fuck. Just like that. I work myself on his hand as his breath rasps against my ear, and there’s no sound but the slick noise of my pussy as I drive against his fingers. When I come, I bite his throat again, stifling my cries of pleasure, and it feels like I’m floating in his arms as I come.

Nowthatwas a celebration. “Thank you, Sinath. That was wonderful.”

He presses a kiss to my temple, sliding his fingers from my body. “Just call me Sin.”

“I amnotgoing to do that,” I say, but I’m smiling. He makes it easy to smile.

I dreamof rockets and starbursts, nebulas full of glitter and pulsing light that feels good as it moves over my skin. Like I’m a being made of shimmering beauty, and that beauty feels like sensual heat against my skin.

When I wake up, Sinath’s hand is between my thighs, in my pajama bottoms, and I’m rubbing against him. Well…that explains the heat and pulsing part of my dream. I squirm in place, wondering if I should pretend to be asleep and finish myself off, or if that will be too obvious. He presses a kiss to my shoulder, and I realize he’s awake, too.

“Good morning,” he whispers, his fingers moving against my clit. “Can I make you come?”

I can’t speak. Words won’t leave my throat. All I can do is rock against his hand, desperate. I want that orgasm. I want to come so hard that I see stars. I want him to pleasure me because it gets him off, too. I want—

The door to Liesje’s bedroom opens and I hear the scamper of Jerry’s small feet across the floor. With a choked sound, I slide out of Sinath’s grasp, pulling his hand free from my pants and wrapping a blanket around myself. “Good morning!”

Jerry scampers over to my spot on the floor and crawls up my arm, settling on my shoulder and chirping his happiness at seeing me again. Liesje appears with a yawn, shuffling towards the small kitchen. “Tea for everyone?”

“Tea would be lovely, thank you.” I pet Jerry and try not to look over at Sinath, because I know I’m going to blush. Did Liesje figure out what we were doing? Does she care? She already thinks we’re together. I call out a greeting. “Did you sleep well?”

“I did,” Sinath whispers, and I glance over at him. Not only is he licking his fingers—the fingers he had down my pants not two minutes ago—his neck is covered in hickies and bite marks.

Oh Jesus. Well, if Liesje had any doubts about what we were doing last night, they’ll be gone the moment she sees his skin.

I decide I don’t care. I’m a grown-ass woman. If I want to bite the hell out of an alien’s neck, I’m allowed.

But I still blush all morning long.

SINATH

Four Days Later

“She hasn’t sent me a comm,” I complain to Liesje as I unpack a box of expired food rations. “Not a single one. She hasn’t come into town, either. It’s like she’s avoiding me.”

“Nolikeabout it. She is avoiding you.”

I look over at her, frowning. “You’re not helping.”

Liesje shrugs, chuckling. “What do you want me to tell you? Maybe you’re bad in bed and she’s decided she’s had enough. Maybe she didn’t like her gifts. How do I know why she’s not talking to you?” She digs through another box, frowning when she pulls out a packet of noodles. “So many noodles, and I didn’t eat most of them. Do these truly go bad?”

“Not really. They might not get as soft as they could, but you can still eat them. I’ve had plenty of expired packs of noodles and they haven’t killed me yet.” I empty the box in my hands and fold it up. “That’s another stack cleared. Do you think I hurt her feelings? Somehow?”

Liesje shrugs. “Did you say something offensive?”

“One might argue that a lot of what I say is offensive. How am I supposed to narrow it down? I’m just being myself.” When she laughs but makes no other comment, worry gnaws at me. What if I did offend Devin somehow? Made her uncomfortable?

Ever since our “holiday” several days ago, I haven’t been able to get Devin out of my head. I show up at Liesje’s daily in the hopes that Devin will happen to be there, but she never is. Rektar—my boss—is giving me grief over how much time I’m spending out here, but I can’t help it. I can’t get my mind off of Devin.

She’s the most incredible female I’ve ever met and I’m absolutely besotted with her. I just don’t know how to see if she’s interested in me back.

“Have you tried going to her place and talking to her?” Liesje asks, packing containers of noodles into her pantry. “That seems to me the easiest solution.”
