Five days later…

Iwas pleased at how well April was fitting into the household. She and Willa were becoming fast friends, and aside from the incident at the bakery, no issues had come up.

I’d made sure not to allow a repeat of her first night on the job, when I’d come all too close to losing control, to taking what I wanted.

And what I’d wanted was her. God, it was so foolish. Had it been a bad idea to hire someone I was so attracted to? Managing my passion had never been an issue for me, but April was different. Even sitting with her in the kitchen while Willa did her homework was enough to get me thinking things I most definitely shouldn’t have been.

As I sat in my office, the computer screen a blur in front of my eyes, I knew I had more important issues to deal with than lusting after my daughter’s nanny. But despite the fantasy’s taboo nature, it was still fun to consider. I’d had a few more…solo sessions thinking about April. But I began to worry they were only making me want the real thing even more.

A text from Scott lit up my phone. It was nothing important—just a reminder of a conference call I had with him and another member of his division later that afternoon. But the bigger reminder was the issue of Scott and Anton.

I hadn’t spoken to Anton since seeing him at his home. He’d been staying out of contact, which wasn’t like him. I made a mental note to check in with him later, make sure he wasn’t getting up to anything he shouldn’t be. Not that I was too worried about him. If Scott was moving along with his plans to shutter the division, then Anton would soon no longer be a problem.

A few weeks. That, according to Scott, was how much time he’d need to finalize the plan. Then I could finally move onto the business of managing a company that wasn’t up to its eyeballs in money laundering.

My thoughts went back to April, and I remembered that her trial week was up. I picked up my phone and considered calling her to let her know my decision but decided I’d rather tell her in person—it’d give me a good reason to get up from behind my desk.

I headed out of the office, stopping into the kitchen. Willa was there, a colorful book about monkeys open on the bar in front of her.

“You seen April?” I asked.

Willa looked up. “She went to her bedroom to do something. She said she’d be back in a few minutes.”

I glanced at her book. “That doesn’t look like homework.”

She set it down. “We’re going to start when she gets back. Can I read a little first?”

“Sure, sure.”

I passed by Willa on the way out, mussing her hair and giving her a kiss on the top of her head.

“Daaad.”

I laughed as I left the kitchen. No other footsteps sounded through the house, so wherever April was, she wasn’t walking around. I went up to her room. As I did, I slipped my phone out of my pocket to check an incoming text from Shauna. I knocked softly on the door before turning my attention back to the phone.

“Come in!”

I opened the door and, my eyes still on my phone, stepped inside.

But my eyes weren’t on the phone for long.

April was in her room, all right. She was in the middle of changing, wearing nothing but a pair of jeans and a light blue bra, her tits looking on the verge of popping out.

Her eyes went wide as dinner plates as she realized what was happening, her hands going to her chest.

I couldn’t help myself. My eyes tracked along her body, taking in the sight of her bare stomach, her round hips, her gorgeous breasts hidden behind her slender hands.

“Shit!” I said, snapping my glance away and leaving the room. “Sorry!”

I shut the door behind me.

“Jason!” she cried out. “I…your knock sounded so soft, I thought you were Willa!”

“Nope, it’s me.” An obvious-as-hell statement, but whatever.

“Sorry, sorry,” she said, her voice muffled. “What do you need?”
