Adam straightened back to his feet when he was done, and Leah muttered her thanks under her breath without meeting his gaze. While her fantasy persona as sweet, gullible Temptation was a delight to tease, real-life Leah was even more entertaining to fuckandfuck with, and right now...
You're in for a surprise, little thorn.
Adam watched in silent amusement as she marched past him to fling the door open.
He had heard footsteps in the hallway earlier, but Leah clearly hadn't, and just as expected, his little thorn cried out in dismay upon seeing a steely-faced Nik standing outside the conference room...along with several billionaire sheikhs from the Kingdom of Kivr.
Adam met his friend's gaze. Are we finally good?
The Greek billionaire grimaced in response.I would have preferred a more palatable way of confirming Leah's feelings, but...yes, we're good.

THE INCIDENT BETWEENthe Greek billionaire and Adam Al-Masri's fiancée became the topic of conversation among the sheikhs over breakfast the next day.
"If I had been in Nik's place," Haydar said with a shake of his head, "I would have grounded my sister for life."
"I doubt that would ever happen," Rahim dismissed. Amira had always been too obsessed over her cold-blooded babies to bother with boys, and even if the girl was foolish enough to become entangled with a man her older brother disapproved of, Rahim had a feeling it was his brother who would not waste time locking her away.
Nassif, seeing the droll look his twin sent his way, thought it best to steer the conversation to another direction. "Zahir called me this morning, by the way."
"He's done with his last mission then?" Haydar asked. Zahir was the only one among them who was still active in Kivr's army, and it was because of his military duties that the other man hadn't been able to be on the same flight with them to America.
"He is," Nassif confirmed, "but the reason he called was entirely...personal."
Rahim was skeptical. Zahir was always about work, and it was why Zahir had become good friends with Nik Alexandropoulos in the first place.
"Zahir didn't have the time to go into detail," Nassif elaborated, "but it seemed as if our brother in arms had become some girl's fake boyfriend—-"
Rahim and Haydar sputtered and choked.
"And for some reason, he also wants all three of us to play along."
