“One,” I say unprompted.
His lips turn up into a pleased grin. “Such a good girl.”
My cheeks heat, loving his praise.
“With what I have planned for you this week, you'll be counting much higher than that. But this time, I need you right now.”
“Yes, please.”
“I hope you were serious about the baby thing. Otherwise, you better speak up.”
Instead of answering, I lock my ankles behind his back and dig my fingers into his arms. He's not going anywhere.
“Fuck,” he growls.
Moments later, he's filling me full, giving me everything and more.
“I can't wait to see you pregnant with my baby.” He kisses me.
“Me too. Dasher will make a great big brother,” I say as we breathlessly lie next to each other.
“I agree.” He pulls me into him, then covers us with the blankets.
“I love you,” I whisper once we've caught our breaths.
“I love you so much.” He rests his palm on my belly. “And our child.”
I chuckle. “Getting a little ahead, aren't we?”
“Never. If you thought I was possessive over you before, just wait.”
I playfully roll my eyes. We lie in bed for hours, snuggling and talking about our future. For the first time, I'm actually looking forward to next Christmas. We could be parents by then and make our own family holiday traditions.
Something I never knew I wanted until I met Levi.
EPILOGUE
LEVI
TEN MONTHS LATER
As I waitat the altar next to my best friend, I look over at my beautiful wife standing on the other side and smile at her swollen belly with pride. Getting to be in Finn and Oakley's wedding party has been super special and walking down with my wife made it even better.
Her being nearly nine months along has made summer interesting. We spent most of it getting the nursery ready and helping our friends plan their fall-themed orchard wedding. It's been the best year of my life, and I can't wait to see what the rest of it brings.
At the sound of “Canon in D” playing, everyone stands, and we watch Oakley make her way down the aisle. I put my hand on Finn's shoulder, giving him an encouraging squeeze since he hasn't turned around yet.
“She looks stunning,” I whisper.
He taps my hand back with the biggest smile I've ever seen on his face.
I glance over at Fallon again. We officially got married seven months ago at the courthouse but had a small ceremony and reception four months later at the tree farm. It was the first time her family visited although I met them in April when we flew to Seattle for Easter. It was great showing them around the farm and town.
When Finn finally turns around and sees his bride, he immediately chokes up. Oakley's a ball of emotions, fighting back tears as she wipes under her eyes. These two couldn't be more perfect for each other.
The officiant begins the ceremony, and by the end, there isn't a dry eye in the audience. Their vows were sweet and personal. There's nothing better than seeing my best friend get his happily ever after.
“My feet are killing me,” Fallon whispers as we wait for the photographer to finish. We did a million group shots, and now they're taking separate family ones.
