“Also, don’t worry about being carded when they come around to take our drink orders. Get whatever you want. Although, I’ll probably take it easy and just get a beer, being the designated driver and all.” He smiled at me.

The waiter came around and Blake ordered his beer and I ordered a banana nut bread martini, which sounded good. Blake also put in an order for lobster mac and cheese to start, telling me it was really good here.

After our drinks arrived, we put the order in for the burgers with parmesan truffle fries, per Blake’s recommendation. We then sat back and began sipping our drinks. Blake moved in closer to me, putting his arm around me. I snuggled into him, enjoying the feeling of his body against mine.

They brought out the mac and cheese along with an assortment of other appetizers. “Compliments of the chef,” the waiter said and walked away. We began picking away at the food and nursed our drinks.

When I was close to finished with my martini, I felt like I finally had the courage to say what I wanted. I turned to Blake and said, “I’m okay with us having sex.”

He practically spit out his beer as he looked at me. “What?”

“I’ve thought about it, and I’d like to have sex with you. I understand that you don’t want a commitment, and I think I can be okay with it as long as you’re always honest with me. Just please don’t ghost me if you decide you don’t want to be with me anymore, because I think that would hurt. But I don’t have a mate anymore, and I don’t want to be a virgin anymore, and I trust you.”

“Jasmine, stop.” He looked at me, putting his hand on my lap.

“I’m not drunk. I’ve only had one drink, so I am cognizant of what I’m saying.”

He shook his head as a busser came by to take away our empty plates. Another person came by to refill our waters, followed by the waiter who asked if we’d like more drinks. Blake nodded his head and the waiter said, “Sir, just so you’re aware, there’s a blizzard warning right now, and they’re saying the roads are getting bad, so let me know if you’d like us to box up your meal for you.”

“It’s okay, I have a Wrangler,” Blake replied. After the waiter nodded and left, he turned back to me and said, “Jasmine, that’s not what I want.”

“It’s not? Why are you always saying you want to have sex with me and then every time I offer it to you, you reject me?” I started to feel dizzy. I had just completely embarrassed myself in front of Blake, and I was way too sober for this, thankful another martini was on its way. Why was I so stupid to think he was doing anything more than joking all this time? I began taking deep breaths.

He pulled me closer to him and rubbed my arm. “I do want to have sex with you, Jasmine. Very much. I think about it all the time. There’s nothing I want more than to explore your entire sexy little body, Miss Alpha.”

I looked into his piercing blue eyes, and asked, “Why did you say that’s not what you want then?”

“Because I don’t want to just hit it and quit it. I want to hit it over and over again, for as long as you’ll have me. I want you to be my girlfriend, my Miss Alpha. And I most definitely don’t want to quit it.”

“Oh,” I replied, taken aback.

“When I said you were worth fighting for, I wasn’t just trying to make you feel better. I truly believed it. And I want to fight for you. Though, I’m hoping you won’t put up too much of a fight, because there’s literally a hotel room upstairs that I will book right now.”

“I have to go home though,” I replied.

“There is a pretty bad blizzard outside. It might not be safe to drive. I mean, my car would probably make it, but I am having a couple drinks so it’s better safe than sorry.”

“What will my parents say?”

“I will text your father right now.”

“You have my father’s phone number?”

“I do. We’ve become quite friendly recently. We have a common interest.”

“What’s that?”

“Seeing his daughter happy.”

I stared at him, mouth wide open.

Someone deposited our burgers onto the table and then the waiter came by with our drinks, placing them in front of us. “How’s your food looking?” he asked.

“Looks perfect. I can’t wait to devour every bit,” Blake said as he stared at me. After the waiter left, he spoke again. “So is everything sorted then? No more excuses?”

I nodded, feeling like I was in a trance.

“Ok, good, I’ll be right back.” He got up and I watched as he walked out of the restaurant and disappeared around the corner.
