He sighed and lay down next to me. “Please, stop, Jasmine. You’re drunk. Let’s just go to sleep.”

“Why? It’s what you want, right? I’m offering you what you want.”

“Please, Jasmine. Not now.”

“Why are you rejecting me? Does everyone want to reject me?” Tears slid down my cheeks.

“No, I don’t want to reject you. Not even close.” He pulled me against him. “And I definitely don’t want to ‘hit it and quit it,’ as you so eloquently put it.”

“Then what do you want?” I asked, staring into his eyes.

“I just want to be close to you,” he said, pulling the blanket over us. “Let’s not make any bad decisions after we were just heavily drinking. Although, it’s nice having someone in my bed again. I missed having someone to snuggle with while I sleep. Bonus that she’s also naked. I can’t complain about this birthday gift at all.”

Chapter 60

Jasmine

Iawokethenextmorning to the sound of an alarm, my throat and mouth dry. I heard a male groan next to me and felt movement on the mattress. I could smell Blake all around me. The memory of last night started to come back to me as I opened my eyes. I lifted the blanket I was under to realize that I was completely naked and so was Blake. My whole body turned red as he rolled over, pulling me against him.

“Well, good morning, Miss Alpha,” he said, bringing his mouth to mine, kissing me. “How’d you sleep?”

“I’m pretty sure I remember the whole night. Can werewolves black out?”

“It’s rarer than it is for humans, but it’s possible.”

“We didn’t—” I started.

“Have sex?”

“Did we?”

“No. But you definitely tried to seduce me.” He smirked at me.

“Oh, Goddess!” I put my hands on my face, recalling what I had done.

“You’re quite the seductress when you’ve been drinking. I mean, I can’t blame you. I’d want to jump my bones too. Now that you’re fully sober, I wouldn’t mind a round of morning sex. Get a nice head start to the day.”

“Let’s just pretend that I didn’t do what I did last night.”

“Why? I enjoyed it.”

I groaned. “And I don’t even have any clothes up here.”

“I like it.” He smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ll go grab your bag and bring it up here.” He got out of the bed, completely naked. He went to throw on some clothes, and I couldn’t help but admire his ass while his back was turned to me. It was really nice. He stepped out of the room and I groaned again.

Moments later, he returned with my duffel bag and dropped it on the floor next to his. Then he stood at the foot of the bed watching me with his arms crossed. “Can I get some privacy please?” I asked.

“It’s not like I didn’t see everything last night—I enjoyed the show by the way.” He smirked, then rolled his eyes. “But, sure, I’ll go use the bathroom while you get dressed.” He entered the bathroom and closed the door behind him.

I quickly rushed over to my duffel bag to throw on clothing for the day. I waited for Blake to come out and I went in after him to pee, wash my face, and brush my teeth. When I stepped out, he was sitting on the bed on his phone.

He got up and asked, “Ready for another day of skiing? We’re leaving this evening since the pack needs me back home, so make sure your bag’s packed so we can load it into my car.”

I nodded. I made sure everything was gathered and checked the room that was supposed to be my bedroom. Once everyone was ready, we drove back to the mountain where we went to a crepe restaurant for breakfast.

We then hit the slopes. Blake, again, stayed with me while we skied, sharing the chairlift with me. When we were on one of the longer chairlifts, Blake spoke. “So, Tyler. How does it feel to meet your long-lost brother?”

“It’s weird. He’s such a stranger to me. I mean, the timing obviously isn’t great since I’ve been sort of avoiding social situations recently, and I should probably try to get to know him now.”
