My favorite.

He definitely did his research for this…date? Oh God, is it a date? I told him that our kiss on the beach was a mistake, so maybe this really is just him trying to make up for being mean afterward?

The problem is, a little part of me wants this to be a date so bad.

“Nice to know.” He takes a bite from his pizza with ham, onions, and….

“Pineapples!?” I almost squeal. “You’re one of those? I can’t do this.”

He rolls his eyes and takes another bite. “People like you are what’s wrong with the world. Pineapple on pizza is one of the best things to have ever been invented by someone who was clearly high as fuck.”

“Even if I was high, I wouldn’t try that.”

“Wanna bet?” He gets up and walks over to the desk, grabbing what looks like a blunt and a lighter.

I shake my head, “that’s what encouraged the mistake last time.”

He sits back down and shrugs while putting the blunt in his mouth and lighting it. “Wasn’t a mistake to me.”

I’m shocked because his actions have said otherwise.

“I hope you like thrillers,” he says after a beat.

“Love them,” I say, grabbing the blunt from his hand and inhaling, “but I feel like you already knew that.” I exhale.

He taps his temple with a grin, “intuition.”

“Whatever. What’s the movie?”

“A classic, Fatal Attraction.”

“You trying to drop hints?” I ask jokingly.

“Only if you can decode them,” he says before hitting play.

A little over an hour has passed, and we’ve reached the part of the movie where Michael brings the bunny home.

I’m high as hell and only have one slice of pizza left.

Somehow, Canon and I ended up making a cot on the floor and are now lying next to each other.

His arms are behind his head and mine are resting on my stomach.

“Ya know, bunnies are useless pets. They die so easily.” Canon speaks up. We’ve made our commentary here and there, criticizing actions and decisions that the characters have made.

“I wouldn’t say useless. They’re cute to look at and can be emotional support animals.”

“How can they be emotional support animals if they can die suddenly with no warning at all. You could be venting to your bunny, start sobbing loudly and boom. He’s gone.”

“They can’t help it. They have fragile hearts.” I say, feeling sorry for the bunnies.

“Don’t we all,” he says before continuing to watch the movie.

I turn to look at his profile for a second before placing my head over his heart. He stills as I just listen to the steady beat of its damaged rhythm.

He eventually places his hand on my back, drawing small circles and causing my mind to only focus on what he’s drawing.
