Was that what she thought? I smirked and stepped toward her. She bravely stood her ground, making me want her even more. She didn’t cower or back down even when it was wiser for her to do so.

“Keegan, what are your intentions with Hawke?”

She tilted her head back, our eyes locked in a wordless battle for a few silent seconds.

“What are you, his keeper?” She laughed. I stared at her until she stopped. “What?”

I grabbed Keegan, pulled her close, and turned her, much like how she was in the picture with Hawke. If only we were naked. My body heated up against hers and my hand traveled up the length of her body painstakingly slowly. My long fingers wrapped around her delicate neck and rested there. I ached to tighten my hold, to hear the sharp gasp that would fall freely from her sweet-looking lips.

I pressed my mouth against her ear, taking in her alluring vanilla scent. “Yes.”

Keegan sucked in a breath before she pulled free. She turned and glared at me. “Don’t lie. I get you’re all close friends.”

I shook my head. “You’re mistaken. We are more than that, but when it comes to Hawke, I am, in fact, his keeper.”

Her perfectly arched brows drew together. I couldn’t help but smooth out the wrinkles the motion had created. She stared at me. “And kidnapping me from school and dragging me back to your place was the best way to make sure I what?” She waved her hand as she continued to talk. “Don’t make him fall in love and take all his money?”

I huffed out a laugh. How would Keegan feel about Hawke if she knew the truth? It wasn’t exactly hidden that Hawke had been disowned by the Choi family but to know he had no money from them. Most women would run away from him, seeing no value in him, but I doubted it mattered to Keegan.

“No, that was never a concern. I’m not certain Hawke is capable of love.”

Anger flashed across her face, and she took a step closer. “Maybe there is more to him than you know.”

“I doubt it.”

The tension between us continued to build, heating the room with every second that passed.

“Have you ever thought that maybe you aren’t as smart as you think?”

“No.” I smirked and stared down at her. “I don’t doubt myself.”

“You should. You’re not so great.”

“You’re right. I’m even better.”

With every heated word passed between us, we grew closer until it was impossible to tell Keegan’s body heat from my own. The urge to slam her against the wall wheeled inside me to a boiling point.

“You’re nothing but talk,” Keegan said.

“Far from it,”

She smirked at me, our noses nearly touching. “Prove it.”

Our bodies came together in a feverish crash of limbs. I had never been rash or hurried a day in my life, and now it was as if I couldn’t move fast enough. Keegan pawed at my clothes, and I did the same to her.

I grabbed a fistful of her hair and yanked her head back, earning a glare from her. She was far more tempting when she was angry. I brought our lips together in a heated kiss.

Tasting every inch of her wasn’t enough. I deepened the kiss, running my tongue over every corner, swallowing every moan that tried to escape. Keegan shoved down my pants, and her hand wrapped around my cock, sending delicious shocks through my body.

I yanked her shirt off, only parting from her for a mere second. Every time we had to part only drove me to want to devour her more. I lifted Keegan, and she wrapped her legs and arms around me. Her nails ran over my scalp as our lips fought a battle I was determined to win.

I took the three steps up to my bed, holding Keegan, waiting for her to submit. I deepened the kiss further. My lungs burned with the need for air, but I ignored it, breathing in Keegan instead.

She broke our kiss, sucking in air. I tossed her onto the bed and shoved my pants the rest of the way down. She scrambled up, tearing off her panties and throwing them to the side. I yanked open the drawer and pulled out a condom. I made quick work of rolling it on before getting onto the bed.

My heart pounded in my chest as I took in Keegan’s long legs and her tan skin. I’d stared at the picture of her too many times. Every single time I thought about deleting it, something in me made me stop. The photo had nothing on the real deal. How had Hawke controlled himself?

I shook my head and grabbed her ankle, yanking her toward me. A shout slipped free, and she punched me in the chest. It made me smile as I spread her legs and lay between them.
