“Count your blessings.” I let her go the moment we made it to my car. “Get in,” I demanded.

Keegan rolled her eyes. She was testing my patience. I moved closer to her and grabbed her wrist.

“Car now.”

“That isn’t how you ask anyone to do something for you.” She yanked back, digging her heels into the pavement.

I glanced down at her. “Do I look like I care?”

“You look like an asshole.”

My left eye twitched. I scooped her up and tossed her over my shoulder. Her elbow and fist pounded into my back, stinging with every blow. Grunts broke free, but I wasn’t putting her down.

I opened the trunk of my range rover Keegan let out a shout. “The fuck? Are you putting me in the trunk?” There was a slight hitch in her voice. She tried to cover it with her thrashing, but she was trembling.

“Stop thrashing around like an animal, and I won’t have to chain you up like one.”

Keegan went still, her breathing ragged, matching the pace of my heartbeat. “Put me down.”

“Depends on if you’re going to listen or not.”

Her fist crashed into my back, and I returned the favor by bringing the palm of my hand down hard on her plump ass.

“Shit!” Keegan squirmed harder. I did it again, admiring the way her jean-clad ass felt against the palm of my hand. “Hey.”

I ignored her and did it again until she stopped moving. My blood was rushing, and I held my hand up, ready to deliver another.

“Fuck, fine, Luxious,” Keegan said.

I was a little disappointed. I wanted to keep going. I reigned in that part of me. No one could handle what I truly craved. Keegan slid down the front of my body as I righted her on her feet.

She took a step back, glaring at me. Her face was red, and I wondered if it was only from being upside down.

“Get in.”

“If I do, what do I get out of it?” Keegan asked.

My eye twitched again, and I refrained from pressing against it. “What do you want?” Money, fame, drugs, and good grades were all within my power.

“For you not to be a douche.”

I ground my teeth. “I’ll think about it. Now get in.” Turning away from her, I got behind the wheel. Seconds ticked by, and I prepared to get out and tie her up and toss her in the trunk. The passenger door swung open, and Keegan climbed in.

“If I die, I will haunt you every single day and night of your life.” She buckled up.

The joke was on her. That sounded nice. “You want to be my pet that bad, huh?”

I started the car and pulled out of the parking spot before she could change her mind.

“What the actual fuck? How did you get to that conclusion?” She glared at me. Now that people didn’t surround me, I let my smile show.

“You said you’d be by my side every day and night. Is that not a pet?”

“Fuck, you’re all crazy.” Keegan sighed as she crossed her arms and sat back in my car’s black plush leather seat. “Where are you taking me?”

Telling her I had no idea felt wrong. I never made a move without thinking it fully through but when it came to Keegan, I was reacting before a fully thought-out plan came about. My hands tightened around the wheel as I kept driving.

“Are you deaf now?”
