His words rang through the room, and they melted together in the afterglow until there was no distinguishing one from the other. He pulled her onto her side so that she was tucked in against his body. They were still locked together and he suspected they would be for another few minutes. They were still pulsing with aftershocks.

“I’ve died. You’ve killed me,” she murmured.

He pulled her even tighter against his body. His hand cupped her breast. Even their legs were tangled together in an effort to keep them locked as one.

He kissed her shoulder. Loving the feel of her warm skin against his lips, he did it again… and again… and again. She gripped his wrist and wiggled her ass.

“If you keep doing that, my cock will never shrink,” he teased.

“You are so dead if anyone comes in here and finds us like this,” she warned.

“No one would dare,” he promised, hoping it was true.

They lay snuggled quietly together. “You break me every time,” she murmured.

“What do I break?” he asked.

She caressed his hand against her breast. “Whenever I convince myself that I won’t let this happen again, you give me a look or a touch or say something stupid like telling me you love me,” she said.

“How is telling you that I love you stupid?” he demanded, nipping her shoulder.

She partially rolled to stare into his eyes. “How can you know you love me when we’ve only known each other for a short time?”

“When you can tell me honestly how you feel about me, then you will know the answer,” he lightly responded. “Are you hungry?”

She blinked at him, as if surprised by his question. A bemused expression flashed across her face and she nodded. He gritted his teeth and gently pulled free of her body. Her eyes widened at the unexpected sensation.

“Oh! That feels… good,” she confessed.

He groaned. “You are going to be the death of me.”

She giggled. “I’m going to take a quick shower. Do you want to join me?”

He rolled her onto her back and kissed her. “Most definitely.”

Twenty minutes and a fresh pot of hot coffee later, they sat outside under the cool patio area and had a delicious meal of fruit, pastries, eggs, coffee, and juice.

“It will be too warm to go now, but perhaps tomorrow morning we can go horseback riding, if you like.”

She nodded. “I’ve never ridden a horse before… unless you count the ones you put a quarter in. I’m not used to having so much time on my hands. Usually if I’m not out finding a missing person, I’m working security at the club or renovating something at home. Speaking of which, have you heard from Jameel yet?” she asked.

“Yes. Your sister contacted him. He said he was going to meet up with her. I sent Yahya and Hyder to make sure they are both kept safe. I shudder to think how the world would change if someone like Coldhouse or Bronislav managed to capture them both,” he said.

She nodded and looked down at her coffee cup. “Sometimes I don’t understand the world. You’d think that humans would all learn to get along together. I mean, it really isn’t that hard if you think about it. I don’t know why some have to be such turds.”

He leaned over and squeezed her hand. “The world is getting better. It is better than it has been at any other time in history and it will only continue to improve. You have to believe in that.”

She wiggled her nose. “Are you one of those ‘glass half-full’ kind of guys?”

He laughed. “I confess. I think finding this place is what inspired me. Would you like to see something very special?” he asked.

She lifted a delicate eyebrow and looked him up and down. “I thought I did earlier.”

His eyes lit up and a crooked grin curved his lips at her teasing. He pulled her to her feet, captured her cheeks between his palms, and kissed her hard on the lips.

“I love you, habibi,” he said in a thick voice when he released her.

Her lips were parted and a slightly dazed glaze made her eyes look darker. He breathed deeply. If he didn’t get them away from temptation, they would be back in bed, on the chaise lounge, or up against a wall.
