I smiled through my tears. “Right?”
“Okay, pull yourself together.” He stroked my cheek. “You’ve got a grumpy biker to marry.”
I chuckled. “Yes, yes, I do.”
Raquel appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, and guided me into the powder room to refresh mymakeup, and then we joined Sundance in the kitchen.
“You look beautiful,” he said.
“Thanks.” I beamed up at him. “And thank you for doing this.”
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
Raquel stood in the doorway between the kitchen and what I assumed was the family room and smiled. “Ready?”
“Yep,” I said.
Sundance presented his elbow, and I slipped my hand in the crook of it. He wasn’t wearing his cut, which I didn’t think much of until I saw the rest of the guys. None of them were wearing their cuts. I was so overwhelmed at seeing my brother, I hadn’t picked up on the fact he wasn’t wearing his either. They were all in suits and they lookedamazing.
I met Wrath’s eyes and he smiled. The look of love I saw on his face almost brought me to my knees, and I bit my lip as I took him in. His suit was dark blue, and he had a small boutonniere of wildflowers that matched mine pinned to his jacket. I’d never seen him like this, and I made a mental note to ensure it happened again.
The room was basically empty. Wrath stood with Orion, Rabbit, and Priestess Rebecca in front of the fireplace. Taxi stood against the wall by the window, his hands clasped in front of him, his stance relaxed as he watched. There was a sofa that had been pushed against the wall, but otherwise, there was nothing else to indicate the house was being used.
Raquel walked ahead of me and Sundance, taking her place on the opposite side of Rebecca and thenSundance led me down the aisle, kissing my cheek before handing me off to Wrath, then taking his place next to Taxi.
It was then I noticed both men had their cell phones out, and I mouthed, “Thank you” to them for their forethought to take photos.
“Hello,” Priestess Rebecca said. “It’s wonderful to finally meet you, Anjanette.”
“Hi,” I breathed out. “Lovely to meet you too.”
“Are you ready to embark on your blessed union?”
I nodded, handing my bouquet to Raquel, then took and squeezed Wrath’s hands. “More than ready.”
Rebecca smiled. “I have been asked to keep this ceremony as brief as possible. So, I will assume your spiritual paths have led to a place of unity, and that you have done the appropriate amount of self-actualization, as well as unification as guided by the universe to the best of your joint and singular abilities.”
Wrath blinked.
I leaned in and whispered, “She wants to know if we’ve worked our shit out.”
“Oh, yeah. Yeah, we’re solid, your Priestess-ness-ess.”
The room chuckled.
Priestess Rebecca cleared her throat. “Great. We’ll move onto the vows then.”
“That’d be good,” Wrath said.
“Rather than a traditional handfasting, you’ve opted for the western exchanging of rings as your symbols of unity, so as you place them on eachother’s fingers, please say your vows.”
I gave her the side-eye at her little dig, but then focused back on Wrath as Orion and Raquel handed us the rings.
“Booth, do you take Anjanette to be your wife, your best friend, your equal, the woman you worship, the woman you will lay your life down for, your sparring partner, and the person you will never forsake for the rest of your life?”
Wrath’s mouth twitched, as he said, “I do.”
“Anjanette, your turn.”
