“Raven has spent the last five years putting together a network of women all over the country who will do her bidding.”
“Do we know why?” Wrath asked.
“Because her daddy didn’t love her,” Sundance spat out.
“Honestly, I can only speculate,” I said.
“I’m not kidding,” Sundance continued. “There was a big to-do when she turned eighteen and he refused to take her on as a prospect.”
“Oh, shit,” Wrath said. “I think I remember that. Didn’t she try to burn down the club?”
Sundance nodded.
“So, she’s making the ultimate girl-power move and taking down all of her daddy’s rivals in order to, what? Make him love her? Acknowledge her?” Wrath asked.
“I think it’s the beginning of a coup,” Sundance said.
“That’s what Taxi thinks, too,” I said.
“Okay, so what does he want to do?” Sundance asked.
“He’s calling for the officers of the Dogs, Saints, and Howlers to meet with our team. I know we’re tight for space—”
“We still got room,” Sundance said. “We can do it here.”
“I figured you’d say that.”
“Yeah?”
I smiled. “There’s no way in hell you’d let any one of your guys, whose women would insist on going wherever they go, leave the safety of the compound.”
Sundance smirked. “I’m not sure how I feel about you having me figured out, sweetheart.”
“You love it, and you know it.”
He sighed, sitting back in his chair.
“Where’s Raven now?” Wrath asked.
“She’s here,” I said. “Denver to be exact.”
“Why can’t we just cut the head off the snake?” Wrath asked.
“She’s too protected.” I faced him. “We have to take down her entire conglomerate or someone will just take her place. She can’t see us coming.”
“I’ll call a meetin’ tonight,” Sundance said. “I want you two in on it. Let Taxi know we’ll loop him in and go from there.”
I nodded. “Sounds good.”
“Good job, sweetheart. Real proud of you.”
“Thanks,” I said, feeling his approval all the way to my soul. “I’ll call Taxi.”
“Sounds good,” Sundance said, and I headed out of the office.
Wrath followed me up to my room and I called Taxi and filled him in, letting him know Sundance would call him after the all-hands. Once I hung up, I faced Wrath.
He grinned, holding up a set of clamps with a raised eyebrow. “Wanna fool around a little before we have to meet with everyone?”
