“Who?” I asked.
“Sergei Reznikov,” he replied.
“Is he not located in Moscow anymore?” Jon asked.
“He’s branching out here in New York, but he plans on setting up his home base in Chicago. He’s already got several things in the works, but he was a bit secretive about it,” Cyrus replied.
“What is his deal with Piotrek?”
“They went in together on an AR-15 deal. They’ve also worked together to create an exclusive edition of a party drug, a mix of molly and some other trade secret drug. He was skimpy on those details too,” Jon answered.
“He’s here in New York. After finding out about the human trafficking his men were engaging in from you, he booked the first private jet he could get his hands on. I told him to meet us here. He’ll arrive shortly,” Cyrus continued.
For a moment, I glanced protectively at Kasia.
“Do you trust him?” I sat back, my jaw tensing.
“Sergei doesn’t like it when women are treated like cattle. In this, I believe he can be our ally,” Cyrus replied, leaning forward and placing his elbows on his knees.
I nodded warily. One of my kitchen staff knocked on the doorframe.
“May I bring you some refreshments?” she asked.
“Bring my best bottle of bourbon and a bottle of red wine. We’ve got work to do tonight and I can’t have my guests thirsty,” I answered. She curtsied, promising she’d be back shortly.
I turned, noticing that the three women had sat together. Mila shifted on the couch with slight discomfort, and I raised an eyebrow, glancing toward Jon knowingly.
“Did I interrupt your festivities for the night?” I teased.
Jon chuckled. “No. Mila and I needed to have a discussion on the way here that she wasn’t going to get herself involved without explicit permission from me,” Jon replied.
Still sitting quite gingerly, Mila stared down at the floor, but I could see that her cheeks were bright red. I huffed with amusement. I’d bet money on the fact that Jon had spanked Mila in the car ride here, likely with both Ava and Cyrus watching.
There was another knock at the door.
“I’ll get it,” Cyrus replied.
Sergei had arrived.
CHAPTER14
Kasia
Sergei Reznikov was massive and his arms were covered in tattoos. He was wearing a fitted black t-shirt, but I imagined the rest of him was tatted too. His chin was covered in a thick trimmed beard that made his presence ominously imposing. When he’d arrived, he’d been kind and shook my hand gently, apologizing on my father’s behalf, which felt strangely out of character from the man I saw standing in front of me.
He greeted the women with such respect that it took me aback. My father’s men never treated any woman like that.
I’d heard his name on several occasions before, but only in passing. I just knew that he was a Russian Bratva leader and he was far more powerful now than I had originally thought.
I was glad that he was on our side.
The four of them sat around a table, talking over blueprints and bank statements and whatever other sources they could get a hold of. As discreetly as I could, I listened to every word, hoping to catch any significant details while I got to know the girls a little bit.
Ava and Mila were as welcoming as they could have been, each of them telling me how they’d met their men. They both had rings on their fingers, queens to the kings sitting beside me.
“Jon told me the story of what you did to that Russian Bratva member,” Mila smirked.
“I’m a fighter,” I grinned proudly.
