“It is, but it’s hard to say no when people need us for jobs. I hate telling them I can’t fit them in.”

“Well, you can’t be everything for everyone.”

“It’s true. But I like to help.”

“I know you do. Now go, check in with your sister. I’m not going anywhere.”

Snapping a photo of the two of us, I sent the photo to Scarlett, followed by a short text message. She responded instantly.

Scarlett: You look different. You look happy.

Me: I am.

Scarlett: Oh my God. Did you fall in love with him?

Me: Yes?

Scarlett: I knew it. I knew I wasn’t going to get rid of that Scottish oaf.

Me: Sorry.

Scarlett: Don’t be. Oh, by the way, I got a call from Good Morning America. They want to feature us. I’m sure it has something to do with your fancy duke.

Me: He’s not a duke.

Scarlett: It doesn’t matter. They want to talk to both of us. Have us on the show and do a demo.

Me: Really? Wow.

Scarlett: Yeah, it’s pretty crazy. So when you get back, we’ll figure out when we can get over there. Does that sound good?

Me: Yeah.

Scarlett: Okay. Thanks for checking in. I’m over here living vicariously through you.

Me: Maybe you should try living vicariously through you. And by that I mean just living.

Scarlett: Maybe I’ll do that. Ethan and Elles are having a party tonight. I wasn’t gonna go, but maybe I should.

Me: You definitely should.

Scarlett: Love you. Have fun.

Me: You too.

“That smile is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen all day,” Taylor said, reaching out and tucking a stay lock of hair behind my ear.

“Such a charmer.”

“You know that about me. But I will also never lie to you, and that is the honest truth. You’re beautiful. Stunning.”

“You know, if you’re trying to get into my pants, it takes a lot less effort these days.”

“Oh, I know. And I’m thankful for it.”

“Should we go? I hear there’s some sort of nobility getting married today.”

“I heard he already got married and this is just a formality.”
