Hearing Liam tell Luz how he feels about her nearly destroys me. I know I have no right to her over them, but I’ve wanted to tell her for a few weeks. The only thing stopping me is that we’re reapers, and we don’t do relationships. Luz, it seems, is the one to break the rules and I shouldn’t have let duty be more important than her.

The pounding of heavy footsteps behind me has me stopping. There really isn’t a point in trying to outrun my roommates, since they’ll just keep looking until they find me.

“Hey, Mason, I’m sorry. I didn’t even realize you liked her this much. I should have talked to you first.” Liam’s damn voice sounds so sincere that I start to feel bad.

“I should have said something. I can’t blame you, she’s amazing,” I say in a resigned voice. If he makes her happy, how can I stand in the way?

“Stop it, you idiots,” Sam says, his annoyance clear. “It isn’t up to any of us to decide who she chooses. She’s a grown fucking woman, so it’s up to her. I, for one, will not turn her down if she wants me.”

We both narrow our eyes at Sam.Great, now I have the alpha male for competition, too.He holds up his hands in defense, a wicked look on his face. The fucker knows damn well he never loses a competition.

“What if she doesn’t have to choose?” I ask bluntly, hating the idea as soon as the words leave my lips. She’d eventually have to choose one of us, right?

“She doesn’t have to. We’re fucking stuck in this place indefinitely. We’ve shared before. If she wants us all like I think she does, then we suck it up, deal with our jealousy, and have a relationship with her. I’m not going to lose out on my chance with the one person who makes me feel something in this monotonous life,” Sam says. Liam and I both grow quiet as we mull it over.

“I don’t like this,” Liam bites out. His harsh tone is something I haven’t heard from him before.

“I can handle it if it means I get Luz,” I finally admit, knowing it’s the right answer. I’m not willing to picture my life without her and Sam is right, this life goes on forever. Why not let ourselves have this, if she’s willing?

“Fine,” Liam huffs. I almost feel bad for him, but honestly we all want her for ourselves.

We all stop talking and turn as we hear Luz’s hurried footsteps coming down the hallway after us. I guess it’s time to talk this out with her. I take a deep breath before securing a smile on my face.

Luz

The tensionin the air as I approach the guys is intense. They look uncomfortable, aside from Sam who has a smug smile on his face. I give him the side eye before turning a questioning look to the others. They refuse to meet my eyes at first.

The way they’re avoiding me has my mind immediately jumping to the conclusion Liam was kidding.

“You didn’t mean what you said, then?” I ask quietly, refusing to look away. Maybe it’s uncomfortable, but I’d rather know now than get even more invested in them.

“Now you guys made our girl upset,” Sam growls at the others. My heart leaps at the word ‘our’ and I meet his gaze. “Luz, let me be blunt with you. We all want you. There’s this unmistakeable connection, and you call to us in a way no one else ever has or ever will. You’re gorgeous, sexy, and compassionate. Would you be willing to give an open relationship a chance? We can make this work. The choice is all yours, though. We won’t pressure you.”

It takes me a moment to process his words. How do I feel about dating them all? Well it certainly solves the problem for me.

All three of my sexy reapers? Hell yes!

“Works for me,” I say without skipping a beat. The look on their faces has me laughing. “Guys, I woke up one day and found out I’m not only a reaper, but a misfit reaper with powers nobody understands. I have been trying to figure out what to do about you three, and now I get to have you all. I’d be an idiot to say no. On my first day I promised myself I’d live this life fully and this is how I want to do it.”

“Finally.” Sam stalks toward me with purpose on his face. My breath catches in my throat as he backs me into the wall. His lips are surprisingly gentle as he presses them to mine. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t kiss me passionately. We fit together perfectly and I moan as he sweeps his tongue into my mouth, claiming and tasting me thoroughly. By the time he pulls back, I’m breathless and holding myself back from jumping him right here and now.

“Well, how are we supposed to top that, asshole,” Liam laughs. When I mean his eyes, they’re full of lust and do nothing to tone down my own desire. I clamp my thighs together and hold back a whimper at their attention. “At first, I thought this sounded crazy and that jealousy would get in the way, but I have to admit watching you with my brothers here would be hot as fuck.”

“Come on, let me get you back to your room safely,” Mason says smoothly, leading me away from the others. I don’t protest, glad I get to know how Mason feels since he’s the only one holding back.

As soon as the elevator closes he turns to me with his cocky half smile. Instead of being the prey this time, I jump. He’s forced to catch me as I wrap my legs around his waist. His hands settle on my ass as he turns and presses me against the curved wall of the elevator.

“I’ve waited way too long for this,” he husks out. I don’t let him say anything further as my mouth descends on his. He doesn’t hold back on me, nipping at my bottom lip before dueling me for control. My pussy pulses with need and I grind into him, begging for more than this.

Breathless and head spinning, I pull away to take in a real breath. Instead of waiting, he trails kisses down my jawline and throat, nipping and licking his way along my sensitive skin.

He doesn’t bother to put me down when the elevator opens, instead keeping his hold on me as he walks us down the hall. When we reach my door he gives me a questioning look and I smile down at him.

“Care to come in?” I whisper in his ear before running my tongue against the curve of it. I continue nibbling my way down his neck as he opens the door.

Mason finally puts me down when we reach the bed. Not ready to break the contact just yet, I press my lips against his in desperation, making it clear that I don’t want him to leave.
