“There’s nothing until Thursday.”

“I wish we could get to her sooner.” I bite my lip with worry.

His gaze is speculative. “You know who has his own plane?”

I stare at him. “No. You don’t mean—”

He smiles and picks up his phone, putting it on speaker.

Oliver answers after one ring. “It’s late.” His voice is monotone.

“I know you’re still working. I need a favor.”

“What is it with you guys and favors?” I muse, keeping my voice quiet so only Archer can hear me.

“What is it?”

“Can I borrow your plane? I need to get to LA, preferably tomorrow.”

“Not happening.”

Archer lifts his brows at me, then says, “We need to go get Piper Fox and bring her back here. It’s sort of an emergency.”

“When?” His voice is clipped.

“Where do you keep your plane stored?”

“Teterboro.”

“We can meet you there in the morning. Eight o’clock.”

“Fine.”

He hangs up.

I blink at Archer. “That was easier than I thought.”

“I know how to handle Oliver because I understand how his thoughts work. He’s very single-minded when he wants something.”

He keeps talking about Oliver, but I can’t focus on the words, I hear them, but they aren’t registering.

I stare at him while he speaks, all the stress from the last couple of hours leeching out of me. He’s so hot with his shirt half unbuttoned, his hair disheveled from earlier when I had my hands in it.

I move toward him, pushing him back on the couch. “I have single-minded focus sometimes too.”

“Do you?” His grin is infectious.

We move together, yanking off clothes, attacking each other with eager concentration.

Ican’t believe this is my life right now.

I stare at the steps leading up to the sleek white plane.

My sworn nemesis is using his private jet to fly us to LA to rescue my little sister.

We were greeted at a private terminal and then driven straight onto the tarmac.

My mouth pops open when we head up the stairs and the pilot greets us. She has sleek blond hair pulled back into a bob and bright-red lipstick. “Welcome aboard,” she says, shaking our hands as we enter the plane.
