After a full minute, Cole knew he’d have to interrupt, or it would just keep going, and it was making him horny as hell to watch. He cleared his throat.
They stopped and looked at him. She blushed, and if he wasn’t mistaken, Kane even looked embarrassed.
“Go.” Kane nudged her toward the sofa.
Cole watched her arrange the pillow, pull the blanket over her, and close her eyes.
“Sorry about that,” Kane said as he sat behind his desk.
Cole knew he was trying to hide the boner he had, but Cole had unfortunately gotten a glance at it because it stuck out so far.
“I can’t seem to keep my hands off her,” Kane said.
“I don’t blame you. She’s beautiful. I pray I find someone like her someday.”
“You will. How about I show you your office? Then you start making a list of the things you’ll need.”
Cole nodded. “Sounds good to me.” He wheeled his way toward the door and glanced at the girl. “Is she asleep already?”
Kane chuckled. “Yes. She drops off pretty quickly when she’s tired.”
“You must know her well.”
“Yeah. She’s my life. I need to know everything so that I can be a good Daddy for her.”
Cole took one last look at Sienna, but another woman’s face popped into his head. He promised himself he’d find Jade again, and she wouldn’t run from him the next time.
Chapter Four
Jade rested against the bar as she waited on the drinks for a table the other waitress had because the place was so crowded. The other woman was crazy busy, so Jade had offered to help.
She felt especially tired that night. Eventually, she’d get used to the long hours, but it seemed like torture sometimes.
A plus was that she was eating more than she usually did, but she wasn’t gaining weight. In fact, she was losing weight because she moved so much for her jobs. She was trying to make herself eat more but was usually too tired on the nights she worked at the bar. Besides, she liked to take the other half of the sandwich to the center for lunch the next day.
“Here you go, Jade,” the bartender, Micky, said. He set five bottles of beer and two drinks on the tray. “You doing okay, babe?”
Jade smiled up at him. “Yes. Just a little tired.”
“You need to take better care of yourself. You’re wasting away.”
“I’m trying. It will get better once I’m used to this job. It’s only been two weeks.”
“I hope so. Be careful.”
She nodded and made her way over to one of Patty’s tables. She set the edge of the tray on the table.
“Who had the beers?” she asked.
Four of the bottles were taken, and one of the drinks. She looked up to see about the last two drinks when her gaze collided with a face she dreamed about nightly.
“Hello, Jade.”
“Hi, Cole.
“Bring my beer to me,” Cole said.
Jade looked around the table at the six large men staring at her as she walked around the table to stand next to his chair.
