I sigh. “I wish we didn’t have to be. This isn’t something I want bringing people together. Because if it doesn’t work out, we might all just fall apart.
Where is my strength when I need it? Where is my hope?
I’m beginning to think it died with that man.
It’s hard for me to be positive when the world burns around me.
I’ll just have to figure out how to put out the flames. If I don’t, it’ll be worse than going to prison. I’ll lose my life.
This will have been for nothing.
“You fucked him, didn’t you?” Talon eyes Esteban from over my shoulder. “He’s far too happy after dealing with the shitshow he warned me about.”
Fiery blush flames across my cheeks at his question. He’s not angry, but his bold curiosity reminds me of his comment about letting me be with whoever I want as long as he gets to join in. I’ve never had a threesome before and the idea...it surprisingly turns me on.
I cover his mouth with my hand, my heart jumping in excitement. “Stop it. That’s personal.”
“Not when it comes to me, wild child. I want to know, so I can knock him down a notch if he even thinks you’re his alone. I had you first.” Talon kisses my palm, his voice loud and vibrating over my skin.
Esteban chuckles from behind me.
“You hear that, fucker? Don’t get any ideas.” Talon slides his hand down my spine and squeezes my ass at the same time he kisses me, plunging his tongue into my mouth to make a show of it.
“That’s a lot of talk for someone who technically didn’t have her first.” Christos remains expressionless, but I can tell it bothers him that Esteban and Talon are so casual about my relationship with them.
I square my shoulders and look at him. “Don’t even start. I’m a free woman, and I will do whatever I want. Whomever I want. As much as I want.”
“Which you have every right to do. He’s only complaining because he wants you too, mamacita. And I’m pretty sure your little stalker does as well.” Esteban presses against me from behind, sandwiching me to Talon. “It’s almost as if he knows what he’s missing.”
Holy fuck. I loved the heat of their bodies around me.
“You fucked him too, didn’t you?” he whispers lowly, his words only a breath in my ear.
Shit. I shiver and don’t deny it.
“I don’t think so. He hasn’t said anything.” Because Leandro has stepped back after becoming my bodyguard. I had fun with him. I enjoy kissing him and teasing Talon, but I’m just not sure he wants in on this mess.
“He’d be in denial if he didn’t.” Esteban kisses the nape of my neck, and I groan at the attention.
“Or maybe he’s just a smart man.” Talon eases away from me, gazing at Leandro helping Bianca put her things in the back of the car.
Heat continues to burn across my skin. I can’t handle another moment of them casually discussing everyone’s feelings for me. “That’s enough. I just want to get out of here, go home, and eat a bucket of ice cream before sleeping for a year. It’s the only way I think I can recover from everything.”
“That sounds like a fantastic idea, wild child.” Talon looks at the others. “It’ll give us time to catch up. Esteban has shit to do. And Leandro can take Bianca home.”
“I’m not a chauffeur,” Leandro says, speaking up, clearly eavesdropping on our conversation.
Talon sighs. “For now, you are. I have things under control—”
“But do you? Stacia has a hit on her. I need to stay close to ensure her safety.” Leandro tosses the final bag into the trunk and slams it shut. Bianca stares at us with wide eyes from the passenger seat. “The last time I trusted somebody with her, she almost got killed. She’s my client, and you pay me to ensure she doesn’t get within reach of some asshole who wants to hurt her.”
Talon puffs out his chest, fisting his hands. He steps away from me, challenging Leandro with his height. “Don’t undermine me—”
I scramble to get between the two of them, their building rage like a burning fuse on a bomb. They might not intend to, but if they explode, it could hurt someone else in the process. That someone else being me.
I press my hands to Leandro’s chest, nudging him back. “Please, take Bianca home for me. You’re the only one I trust with her life. I don’t want her to get hurt in the crossfire.”
Leandro loosens his muscles, drooping his shoulders in defeat. “Beautiful, I just worry. I know you’re brave and plenty capable of handling yourself, but I also know that Talon is enamored by you. I can’t blame him, but I will fault him if something happens.”
