Talon moans as he finishes, sliding his hand behind my neck and pulling me to him for a kiss. His tongue tangles with mine, enjoying every second as we come down from our high.
“That’s my sexy fucking wild child. They’re all going to think about me when they’re with you now. They won’t be able to forget it.” Talon sinks onto me, combing his fingers through my hair, our bodies damp with sweat.
I smile and rub his shoulder. “I think you get off on torturing them.”
He chuckles. “One of many things you’ll learn about me. No more secrets. You’ve proven that I was an asshole and overprotective. I know you can handle anything. I know you can handle the whole fucking world.”
“Keep your mask up and don’t look at anyone. All you have to do is make it the ten feet it takes to reach the entrance of the VIP.” Talon pulls strands of my blond wig over my shoulders, playing with the curls. “Christos and Esteban will be by your sides. Leandro, you have to stay in the club. Keep a watch on the bar. Call me if you see anything.”
Leandro remains expressionless, but I know it bothers him that Talon commands him to stay in the club instead of joining us. But he can’t go. He thinks we’re having a meeting with just my dad. He knows nothing of the Society of Secrets, and it will always stay that way.
Esteban offers me his arm, and I take it, smirking at Talon, knowing that he’s more aware than ever that I’m going to constantly push his buttons. Christos mutters something under his breath, crossing his arms. It makes it that much more satisfying. Esteban might be psychotic when it comes to his business, but he’s been kind to me. He’s also super fucking attractive, has a nice dick, and knows that I’m not interested in anything serious. He’s down to help me torment Christos, even though he’s his best friend.
I’m starting to believe their friendship is one of those ‘keep your enemies closer’ types of shit. Maybe sharing is caring. I don’t really know or care.
Talon leads the way through the packed club. Patrons dance, laugh, and drink, and some do lines of coke, and who knows what else as they fill the booths with bottle service, since the VIP is completely out of the question for even some celebrities.
I try my best to keep my gaze on the floor, but a part of me wants to watch Leandro as he heads to the bar. Kitty is working tonight again, and I wonder if she knows what’s up, since Talon made her go through receipts to find someone. Not that she would ask and risk losing her job. She not only gets a huge amount of money in tips, but Daddy pays all of the bartenders and servers big enough salaries that they can live comfortably in LA. And not just a tiny apartment in one of the towers.
We have nearly zero percent turnover.
“Princess, oh my fucking God. Get your ass over here. I fucking missed you.” Bianca rushes to me, flinging her arms around my shoulders, and she nearly tackles me to the floor. Talon nudges us away from the landing of the staircase, making sure we’re out of view as we make our way to the meeting room.
Esteban and Christos trail behind us, and Bianca peeks over her shoulder. “Please don’t tell me the three of them are staying with you. What the fuck is going on with Christos? I thought you’d cut off his head after everything.”
There’s so much I want to tell her, but a part of me doesn’t want to risk dragging her into things.
“If I cut off Christos’s head, then he won’t be able to see or hear me fucking the Executioner or his best friend.” I glance over my shoulder and smile at Esteban.
“Ay, bitch. Both of them?” Bianca smiles wider, showing off her straight teeth. “Please tell me at once. Fuck, that would be so hot.”
I’d laugh, the idea far more exciting than it should be. Talon threatened if he saw me with someone else that he would join. I’m not sure if he’s really serious or not, because he’d probably wrestle someone and knock them out for my attention.
“Not yet, but Esteban is fucking sexy. He loves fucking with Christos’s his head, so I might like that match.” I tug Bianca further away from them and toward the dark room where Eduardo begins lighting candles.
I sigh in relief, knowing that William isn’t attending the meeting tonight. Talon said he returned to the San Diego chapter.
I just don’t think he wanted anything to do with the current mess.
“Princess, you’re being summoned into the King’s chambers.” Talon’s looming form materializes next to me, and I nearly jump out of my skin. For being so big, he can either sneak around easily or I’m just so unaware. Probably both. It’s easy to get distracted with my best friend here.
I crinkle my nose and pop out my bottom lip, looking at Bianca. “I’ll be back.”
Talon touches his palm to the small on my back, guiding me toward the doorway to Daddy’s chambers. It’s the last place I want to be after everything. I’m still so fucking pissed off at him that I don’t want to see him.
“Take a breath, wild child,” Talon whispers, rubbing his fingers along my back. “It’s going to be fine.”
“You say that too much. You damn well know that nothing will be fine until we figure out who the hell killed that guy in my hotel room.” I don’t know why I say it, but I feel like I just have to put it out there. Being here at the Looking Glass leaves me on edge. The last time I was here, I was nearly forced into either being abused or coerced into sucking off someone to humiliate me.
“I only say it, because it’s true. I won’t stop until you actually believe me,” Talon murmurs the words, keeping his voice low, so no one can overhear him.
I spot the other members of the King’s Court surrounding my dad as he sits at his desk, flipping through some paperwork. I wish he were alone, so I could at least talk to him freely, but it’s as if he doesn’t want anything to do with me anymore. I’m probably an embarrassment that he just wants to discard. I doubt he’ll even continue training me to one day take over our empire.
The thought angers me, and I bite my cheek and clench my fingers into fists.
“Good evening, Your Majesty,” I say, bowing before him. “You’ve summoned me.”
“Yes, Princess. As you know, the recent scandals have drawn some unwanted attention to our business endeavors. Business is down, and we’ve lost the trust of patrons.” Daddy folds his hands together. “This is not good.”
