“I know what you need,” he murmured. “I’m going to give it to you.”
He turned me on the couch so I was facing him. I watched him concentrate through slitted eyes, pleased and perfectly happy to be manhandled. His hands continued to work on my shoulders and down my arms. As I settled into his lap, I couldn’t help but notice his hardness through his pants.
That was … gratifying. All he was doing was giving me a little massage, but he was this turned on. I reached out almost lazily and rubbed him through the material. He rewarded me with a small sigh.
“You don’t understand the things you do to me, malysh,” he told me, wrapping his arms around me and holding me close. “Life around you is better than anything I’ve ever experienced.”
I drank in his words, kissing him as he cupped my breasts through my shirt.
He was everything to me. I loved him, I was in love with him, and I couldn’t imagine being with anyone else. We just worked together. We knew what the other person needed at all times. It would be stupid not to be together.
That was the thing, though. I couldn’t go on being with him in good faith without him knowing the truth.
“Misha, wait.”
He gave the smallest groan in the back of his throat. I could feel his pulse thumping through his chest and neck. “You want this. I know you do. We both want this.”
I squeezed my eyes shut and rested my forehead against his. “I know. And you’re right. I do want this. More than anything.”
“Then what’s the problem, malysh?”
“I can’t keep doing this until you know the truth.” My insides twisted with fear. It didn’t matter. He had to know. I couldn’t keep lying to him. Not when he was so good with the kids.
And not when I was just as in love with him now as I ever had been.
“I’m here, Sadie.” He leaned back so he could hold my gaze. His eyes were deep blue and steady, encouraging me. “You can tell me anything. We’ll figure it out together.”
“It’s the triplets,” I said. “Their father… He’s not exactly out of the picture anymore. That’s because it’s you.” I sucked in a lungful of air. “You’re their father, Misha.”
