He smiled smugly, and I knew he wanted me to explain what I meant, when I said after, but to be honest I wasn't sure. I just knew I didn't want him to stop kissing me. Wherever that led to, I wasn't sure, but I would just let it happen. I wouldn't fight it, that was all I knew.
"Ready to be mine?" he asked, his smile growing a little.
I sighed, leaning my head back.
"Maybe," I said and looked at him again.
"Until you say yes, I won't touch you."
"Blackmailing me now?"
He shook his head.
"No, just a promise," he told me. "I want all of you. I have no doubts, but do you?"
Did I? I seemed so sure when I kissed him just moments ago, but maybe he was right, maybe we needed to talk first, then I might just figure out exactly what I wanted.
"Fine, let's talk," I said.
Dominic made a small nod as if to tell me to proceed.
"No need to kill Gabriel," I said.
"Not convinced yet."
"I didn't get far, okay? We were at this diner. Gabriel got distracted," I said and heard Dominic growl.
"He is supposed to have his eyes on you all the time!"
"Well, I was in the bathroom or so he thought. He couldn't really follow me in there. I got out and ran while he wasn't looking, but I stopped after a little while."
"Why?" he asked.
I shrugged.
"I ... I am not really sure, I think ... I think I finally understood what you were saying back when I told you I was searching. I mean, I just started to really think it through. Right here I have you and Gabriel, and ... Ace I guess, I have this house. I feel comfortable here. I feel almost happy. I can't explain it, and out there ... I am not sure what I have. I might be able to find something like this, but why go search for it when I already have it? A home. A safe home."
Dominic seemed to grow less tense, as he heard me say this, and a calm smile spread on his lips. He walked closer to me and leaned over me, grabbing my chin.
"You do have a home here, and I will make sure nothing happens to you," he promised me.
I smiled up at him and said:
"I believe you."

I was so surprised when Lara jumped into my arms and kissed me. It was the best surprise I had ever received though, but then I heard Gabriel had also lost her, and I had to say I grew quite angry. Somehow Lara could instantly calm me down though, and I realized just how powerful this bond was between us. It was like she had the remote to me. Like she could control me so easily, and it made me so happy to hear, that she realized, where she belonged. What she had here, and that she wanted it. I couldn't stop myself from going to her and kissing her again, but I only let our lips meet shortly because we weren't done talking, and I would not claim her as mine until she asked me to.
"Is that all I get?" she whispered against my lips, her eyes half-closed and looking at my lips.
I smiled at her a bit teasingly and then nodded.
