I just shook my head.
"And she decided to marry that fucker?"
"He was a good person ... once," I whispered, closing my eyes, and just wanting this conversation to end.
"Doesn't change the things he has done," he said.
I took a deep breath before turning to the king again and then made sure he could see in my eyes how much I wanted him to end this chit-chat.
"Can we just sit in silence, please? That I would prefer."
It just made him chuckle a little, but he nodded.
"Very well."
I sighed and then closed my eyes. I was surprised I was even able to fall asleep. I didn't really want to let my guard down around these people, but my body thought otherwise, and I was allowed to drift off.

"Time to wake up, little wolf."
I turned and looked to my left, seeing the king there. Ace and Gabriel had already left the plane, and I quickly rubbed the sleep from my eyes, before unfastening my seatbelt and then getting my bag. I followed the king outside and then held my hand in front of my eyes, as we came out into the bright light.
A few cars were waiting for us, and I followed the king over to one of them. Gabriel and Ace took another, and then we drove off. The car ride took a while before we finally arrived at the hybrids' home. A giant mansion close to the water. I had never seen anything so big, and my mouth opened, as I looked up at the giant building.
"Welcome home," the king said as he came up on my right side.
"This isn't my home," I just said, before following him inside.
"It will be," he told me, as he held the door for me.
The place was clearly guarded. I noticed the people who drove us here were scattering around the place, and the house itself had a lot of servants already telling us they were getting started on dinner and offering to help us with everything. I felt very out of place. I had never been in a house like this, nor had I had anyone who wished to help me with my things. I just held my bag close, as I followed the king two floors up.
"In here," he said.
I followed him into a room, which I knew, the second I stepped inside, belonged to him. Not just the things lying around, but also because it smelled so much like him, even if I was only a half-blood, his scent was so very clear to me.
"I am not sleeping in the same room as you," I told him and turned around.
"Yes, you are."
"No, I am not!" I told him and turned to him again.
"You're my mate, you belong in here."
"It's a hard pass."
"Lara," he said and shook his head like he was talking to a misbehaving child.
"I am not sharing a room with you!"
"You're my mate, and you're not sleeping anywhere else," he said.
I groaned irritated and then dropped my bag to the floor. Fine, he wanted to share a room, but I was going to make it hell for him, that was for sure.
"I am not sharing a bed with you. So, I call dips on the couch," I said and pointed to the seating area in the middle of the room, which stood in front of a fireplace.
"Suit yourself, but they aren't very comfortable," he just said and walked closer.
