Gabriel's voice didn't sound like his usual cheery one, and I quickly tensed, not liking this.
"What is going on?" I asked.
"They have her ..."
"What?!"
"They fucking attacked me ... Damon found me. He wanted to go over the whole ceremony thing with you... Ouch! Quit it!" he growled at the other end, and something told me he was either being stitched up or having an arm or leg put back into place.
I bet Damon wasn't happy about being his nurse, but I couldn't really care about that now. I stood up, my heart pounding in my chest, and my wolf growling darkly inside of me. They had taken our damn mate!
"Where?!" I growled.
The other two, Aaron and Ace, were standing now as well. They must have tuned in their hearing in order to listen to the conversation.
"I don't know, but you know what they want from you," he said.
"It isn't happening! Now I am going to get my damn mate back!" I growled, before hanging up, knowing just who I needed to turn to to find my little mate.
There was only one person I believed could be this bold as to take my mate, and that was Arianna's father. He was the one wanting me to be with his daughter so badly. Well, he had crossed the wrong person.
"Ace, come!" I said, walking towards the door.
"Hey! I'm coming too," Aaron said, taking his jacket that hung over the back of his chair.
"No–"
"She is my daughter," he said, not wanting to hear anymore.
I didn't have time to argue with him. He would just have to keep up though because I wasn't waiting for him.
Chapter 51
-Lara-
Damn, it was dark ... or was I blindfolded? I couldn't tell. I just knew it was dark and cold ... where was I? I tried moving, as I slowly came to, but I quickly found my hands cuffed behind me and to the leg of the iron chair I was sitting on. Okay, this was getting very creepy. Like horror movie creepy.
"Hello?" I called out.
I tried looking around as if I could somehow make something out in the darkness, but there was nothing. I had to be blindfolded. I was sure of it, yet I didn't feel any pain, so someone had just tied me up, probably needing me for something or maybe they were just biding their time? I continued to look around, even if I couldn't see. I couldn't help the instinct to move around. My heart was pounding inside of my chest and my hands were sweaty, so scared I was, and I felt the need to pee.
Fuck, this was not good.
What had even happened?
I barely even remember anything. I just remember going out to find Gabriel and then ... Oh, fuck, someone had grabbed me from behind and knocked me out. Why?! Was it the council?! Had they finally decided it was time to strike? Maybe it was getting too close ... Yes, it was getting too close to me becoming Dominic's queen, and no one liked that. They wanted me gone. I was going to die, wasn't I? They were going to kill me ...
I felt the need to cry but willed myself not to. No, I was not about to cry like a little girl in need of a big hero to save her. I had taken care of myself for a very long time, and I would get myself out of this ... situation. I didn't need anyone to save me. I would figure it out myself.
Suddenly, I heard something creak. I believed it was a door being opened, but I was unsure where it came from. My blood was pounding in my ears, so it was hard to determine the source. I tried to calm my breathing, but then I heard the clicking of heels and deep heavy steps. What the hell was going on? I heard someone walking around me, and my breathing went out of control. Then, finally, the blindfold was taken off me, and I could see who it was that was in front of me. A small light moved into the room from where Arianna had come from, and now she was standing in front of me, smiling like she had already won.
"What the fuck?!" I shouted.
She just smiled, crossing her arms. Her long blond hair was loose and ran down her back, and she was wearing this really gorgeous dark suit. Damn, she looked like someone who meant business, but I guess this was business. Kidnapping me and bringing me here, probably to get tortured or ... killed.
"Comfortable?" she asked.
"Oh, go fuck yourself!" I said.
