“Only with Brenna,” Roman said.

“We need more guys like you.”

“Oh, I think there are a lot of them here.”

“I’m going to use the restroom before the meal arrives.” Nicole scooted out of the booth.

“What if she finds a man like you and is really attracted to him, but he isn’t her mate? What will happen?”

“In this town, she’ll either find her mate or not date unless it’s a human. Humans and wolves won’t be attracted to each other if they’re not mated.”

“Oh, that’s why I thought Hunter was hot but had no desire for him.”

Roman growled, cupped the back of her head, and brought her closer to him. “You will not find another man hot ever again. Only me.”

She laughed and wrapped her arms around his waist. “I won’t. I’ve got the man the universe says is perfect for me, so I’m happy.”

“I’ll definitely make you happy.”

She raised her head and pressed a kiss to his lips. “You already do, mate.”

He took over the kiss, and soon it became hot and heavyuntil someone cleared their throat.

“Um, guys, that’s not something I’d like to see, so cool down,” Nicole said as she slid back into the booth.

Brenna grinned. “Sorry. Tell us about how you left the city.”

Nicole spent the next hour talking and eating. If Brenna knew where Simone was, everything would be perfect.

“Is there a motel by so I can crash?” Nicole asked.

“No, you’ll come home with us,” Roman said.

“I don’t think—”

“You won’t win, Nicole,” Brenna said and smiled.

“Oh, hell. Fine, then, thank you.”

“Are you okay to follow us in your car?” Roman asked.

“Yes, I think so.”

“Now that I think about it, how about we leave it here? No one will mess with it. We’ll be driving up the mountain. It’s dark out, and you’re tired. It’s a dangerous combination.”

“Please, Nicole,” Brenna said.

Nicole rolled her eyes. “Okay. I’ll get my bag out.”

Roman paid for the meal, led the women outside, got them situated in the truck, and drove them home.

Once there, he showed Nicole a room she could use.

Brenna hugged her. “Get some sleep. If anything changes, we’ll come to get you.”

Nicole nodded. “Good night.”

They’d just gotten to their room when Roman’s phone rang.
