She waved at him.
Roman held his hand out. “Keys, baby.”
She handed him her car keys and then let him lead her around to the passenger side, where he helped her in. She bit her lip to keep from laughing as Roman contorted himself to get in the car.
“We can always take your truck,” she said when he bumped his knee on the steering wheel for the third time.
“No. I’m sure you’re going to want your things around you.”
That was a strange thing to say, but she kept from asking questions as he started to drive up the mountain. The scenery distracted her and was absolutely breathtaking. She could have stared at it for hours.
“You live up here?”
“Yeah, this part of the mountain belongs to my family and has for generations.”
“Wow, that sounds really neat.”
He nodded and took her hand.
There was one question she couldn’t wait to ask. “Why do I feel this way?”
He brought her hand up to his lips. “I’ll tell you when we get home. Just know that you’re safe here. No one can get to you, and I’ll never harm you or allow anyone else to.”
She was stunned that she hadn’t noticed before then that she was relaxed and not fearful for the first time in months.
Chapter Four
Her scent was slowly driving him crazy. It filled the vehicle’s interior, and he couldn’t help not taking in a lung full of it every time he took a breath.
He drove around the bend where he knew she’d see her home for the first time.
“Oh, my. Roman. This is beautiful.”
The house was ancient, over a hundred years, but the family had kept it up-to-date and had changed things over the years.
When his parents moved south, he’d put steel siding on the house, but it was made to look like wood. It had been damn expensive, but it had a warranty up to thirty years, and it was great against the Montana winters because it held in the heat better.
River stone was placed around the base of the house, which had never been changed. Neither had the front porch with its swing that his mother put up, and he could remember her rocking him in it as a baby.
“Thank you. I’m glad you like it.” He pried himself from the car and walked around to her side. “Is there anything you need from your car right now, pet?”
She shook her head and took the hand he held out.
He pulled her inside and showed her around. A living room with a metal stove in the corner made the house toasty in the winter. There was a fireplace in their bedroom that he could see her stretched out in front of on a furry rug waiting for him.
The kitchen needed some updating, but he would have her do it to put her stamp on the house and make it feel like it was her own. He wanted her to feel as much a part of this family as possible.
Roman showed her the TV room and office beforeescorting her upstairs. He was waiting to show her their bedroom last, which was the room at the far back of the house, away from everything, so they’d have some privacy.
When they went back downstairs, he pulled her down the hallway, into the bedroom, and closed the door, unable to wait another moment. “This is our room.”
“Wait, what?”
He tightened his hold on her when she tried to jerk away from him.
He sat on the edge of the bed and pulled her in between his legs. “Baby, there is so much I need to tell you that you might think is crazy, but first, I want you to tell me how seeing and touching me affects you.”
He bit inside of his cheek to keep from smiling at the blush that covered her face. It was very telling, but he already knew she wanted him because of the cream seeping from her cunt. The scent was so sweet and strong that it had his wolf pacing, and a feral feeling tried to take over.
