I love that Idea. We have a vast tub; I've used it several times but never in it together. What I didn't expect was the tub to be already filled with candles and some scented soap.

"When did you have the time to do all this," I ask when he puts me down.

"Right before you came to get me. I wanted to make sure everything was perfect for you."

He's so sweet. I turn around and give him a long passionate kiss. "Thank you."

When most people think of a romantic Christmas Eve with their partner, the good stuff comes after. But not in my case. I fell asleep as soon as I dried myself off and crawled into bed. The following day when I woke up, I felt utterly guilty about our sexless night. I know I need to apologize. When I turn over in bed, I see Conrad is already awake and smiling down at me.

"Good morning, beautiful."

"Sorry," I mutter with a yawn.

"For what?"

"For the lack of sex last night. That bath just totally knocked me out."

He chuckles and leans over to kiss my forehead. "I wanted you to sleep; the bath did exactly what it was supposed to do."

"I do feel much better than I did."

"Well, I want to make you feel even better."

"Not possible." I shake my head.

Conrad suddenly stands, grabbing my house coat and throwing it at me. "Put this on and come downstairs."

I feel a bubble of excitement start to form. I jump to my feet and throw on the robe, ready to go in a second. Conrad takes my hand and leads me downstairs. It's still early in the morning, around six o'clock. We need to head out to feed the horses and start the stalls. When we get downstairs, I look around for something, anything. But all I see is our messy living room—the tree and decorations right where we left them.

"Notice anything?" Conrad asks.

"Not really," I say honestly.

"Alright, how about something missing." He hints.

It clicks, then. Donna and Burt should be up by now. Even on Christmas. My parents are also early risers; they've been up this time every morning they have been here. "Where are they? Sleeping in?"

"Probably, but not here."

I turn to look at him. "What do you mean?"

"I sent them on vacation." He grins.

I stare at him in shock. "You sent them on vacation. Donna and Burt and my family? All of them? When did they even leave?"

"I sent Donna and Burt on a honeymoon to Hawaii, and your parents and brother as well. They left late last night but will be back to celebrate New Years Eve with us."

I've been speechless for a long time. I don't even know what to say; what is there to say? I finally got my head around what was happening. "So, are you telling me we are alone here for the next five days?"

"Yes, but even better, all the farm chores are taken care of. I paid some staff wanting overtime triple pay."

I jump into his arms. This was precisely what I wanted, some alone time with my husband. "What should we do first?" I'm so excited my mind can't focus on anything.

Conrad pulls me into his arms, and suddenly the whole mood changes. His eyes are heated, causing me to flush with passion.

"How about we set a fire and make love in front of it like in those cheesy Christmas movies." He winks at me.

"I think that is the best idea you've ever had." And then I kiss him. Ready to show him just how much I love him.
