“No. I will not allow you to take her from me. If you try to send her away, I will find her and take her back,” I told him furiously. How dare he suggest taking my pet from me? King or not, he had no right.

“I could always have her killed,” he replied nonchalantly. I stood forcefully, my chair falling as I did so.

“Harm my pet in any way, and I will kill you myself,” I hissed. My fangs elongated, and I could not stop the growl that rumbled in my chest.

“And you claim your affections do not weaken you,” he said calmly. “I have no intentions of harming your pet, Selene. As you have reminded me, the half-witch saved your life, and for that, I would spare hers if possible.”

“Why do you threaten my pet then?” I asked, not missing the threat in his words. He would spare Percy if she did not threaten my reputation and Borealis.

“To see how you would react and make you aware of your shortcomings. Your affections for your pet are a weakness, and currently, you are displaying that weakness for all to see. You are the future queen, the future of Borealis. You cannot be seen to be weak. Weakness is dangerous, Selene, for you and your pet,” he told me. I kept his gaze, listening to his steady heart and scenting the air; he was not anxious.

“And what am I to do Father? I refuse to give up my pet and cannot control rumours.”

I was protective of Percy. Not only was she the perfect source but also my soul match, which was undoubtedly the reason I found her so physically tempting in all ways. It also meant I had to protect her for my safety. The servants interpreted my physical attraction and need to keep Percy close as love for my little pet.

They viewed Percy and me as some fairy tale, pauper and the Princess nonsense. Some were admittedly jealous of my pet, as if in an alternative life, I may have chosen them instead.

Ridiculous.

“I understand that before you returned home, you had started to court Lord Oskar Halvorsen. While I would prefer you to court a pureblood vampire of proper heritage and standing to avoid the issue of needing to find a donor to produce an heir, the pool of such appropriate suitors is lacking, and tradition is changing. Other Houses have married outside of their kind to form alliances during the marriage and create strong bonds of friendship while keeping their bloodlines pure. House Halvorsen is strong with allies in the southwest. An alliance of marriage would deter any Houses in the south that may view Borealis as weakened, and now the opportune time to secede. We must keep the Borealis Kingdom united,” my father explained.

“You require that I return to Sanguis Academy and resume my courtship with Lord Halvorsen,” I affirmed.

“It is what is best for the Kingdom and you, my daughter. Such a union would reaffirm our strength in the south, and the engagement announcement would redirect attention away from you and your pet,” he told me pointedly.

I understood that he was giving me an option. I could keep Percy, but not at the cost of my appearance, of Borealis. Lord Halvorsen was the perfect solution.

I had chosen Lord Halvorsen previously to avoid being married off against my will if my father had died. I knew that if it were so, the council would insist that I married immediately. My concerns were correct, as Vasilios insisted on marrying me to Valen. Now it seemed that a courtship with Lord Halvorsen could serve another purpose, one that would protect my pet and serve the Kingdom.

“Very well. I will arrange to return to Sanguis Academy and contact Lord Halvorsen to resume the courtship.”

“You are making a good decision, Selene,” he praised.

“And my pet?” I questioned.

“Give the lower classes something new to talk of. Show our allies you are not overly attached to your half-witch. If you can do that, your pet should cease to be a weakness,” he confirmed.

I left the council room to return to Percy. My little pet would undoubtedly be upset when I resumed courting Lord Halvorsen. Fortunately, she was rather adorable when jealous. I hoped to find her still asleep, as I had left her, and distract myself, from my father’s warnings, by waking her.

3. Back to School

Persephone Flores

The first thing I was aware of were the arms that pulled my back into a soft front, the morning light was too bright for my bleary eyes, and I turned my head into the pillow.

“Good morning, pet,” The Princess spoke softly behind me as one of her hands teased the skin of my stomach where my top had ridden up in my sleep.

“Morning, Ma’am,” I replied, a little sleepily and groaned when her hand moved downward and her fingers dipped under the waistband of my panties.

“Did you sleep well?” she asked, as her arm around my waist pulled me in tighter, her hand in my panties moved lower until she was cupping my pussy.

“Uh, yeah,” I answered, trying to push myself further against her. She kissed my shoulder, and her arm around my waist moved up under my top until she squeezed my breast. I moaned, and my hips bucked forward, wanting more.

She ran her nose up my neck and gently bit my earlobe, her hand cupping my pussy applied only the slightest additional pressure. “Please, Ma’am,” I begged, trying to push myself further into her hands. She growled softly, lips pressing against my neck and teeth nipping lightly.

Her touches were too soft, too gentle. I wanted more. It felt like I had awoken on fire; only her touch could soothe my burning skin.

“Hush,” she commanded as I squirmed in her hold and groaned with frustration. I did my best to calm myself for her but only moaned loudly when her fingers spread me and began to slowly, softly circle my clit.
