"No, we never did." She cries. "He's gone, Karly, and I can't tell him. I can't be a mom!"

I hug her, knowing that I'll support her no matter what. I'll be there for them, just like Hanna's always been there for me. If she keeps the baby, if she doesn't, no matter what she decides, I'll help her. "What are you going to do?"

"I don't know."

"It's going to be okay." I squeeze her hand. "At this point, we can just raise the baby together, and people can think we are lovers."

She laughs, blowing out some snot in the process, "you are stupid, but I love you."

"I know you do," I wink, "I love you too, and we," I point to myself, her, and the baby, "will be okay. All three of us."

We sit and talk for a while, but after pigging out at lunch, Hanna leaves to return to her room and nap. I sit and read some headlines on my phone about Ashton, feeling a little bit sorry for myself. That's what happens when you date a narcissist, they push you until you break up with them, and somehow you still feel like it's your fault.

A shadow lurks over my phone, so I look up to see what's blocking it. Sure enough, it's the guy from earlier, this time with a smirk.

"I see your friend left."

"Yeah, she needed a nap," I shrug.

He flashes his white teeth, "She was a little cranky."

I rake my eyes up and down his body to get a better look at him and the water beads on his chest. "She just got her heart broken."

He winces, "Ah, bummer… and you?"

"I'm trying something new," I peek at him over the top of my glasses, "No feelings involved kind of things."

"And how does one become part of your new vision?"

I stand up, tossing all of my stuff in my bag, "it's real simple. You just follow."

He reaches down to my hip, threading his fingers through the strings of my bikini. "I am a great follower and even better at no strings attached."

Damn, this bikini really is magical.

I maintain a tightlipped smirk as I take off toward my apartment building with this Chad Michael Murray look-a-like in tow. We make it to the apartment, and I can't help but think about Hanna as I pass her closed door.

I can't imagine what she's going through, and a fucking baby to top it all off?

The second my bedroom door opens, we start kissing, and it only takes two swift pulls to take off my bikini.

"That might be my favorite bikini of all time, and I've seen quite a few." He growls.

I grip the waistband of his swimming trunks and pull them down quickly, "Oh, I bet."

He reconnects his mouth with mine, our tongues swirling together fast and greedy. I hit the mattress quickly, my legs falling apart for him. He stares down at me, his eyes all dark and sexy.

"I need to get a condom," He sighs, rummaging through the stuff he brought up from the beach.

I nod and watch as he rolls it on. Such a simple thing that could've prevented Hanna from a whole lot of complications.

The condom is a nice gesture, but the only thing it's saving me from is an STD because I can't get pregnant.

I can't ever get pregnant, babymaker bikini or not.

Present

I watch as the yellow fabric burns to nothing more than black ashes, and I nurse the same beer I've been trying to finish for more than an hour.
