“What?”

“You zoned out for a moment. I hope you’re not planning on doing something to get vengeance on poor Snow?”

Not unless kissing her pretty pink lips and then fucking her senseless against a Christmas tree counted as vengeance. No. She wasn’t thinking of that right now.

“No, I’m not planning anything like that. I want to get working on those greeting cards. The photos are wonderful, and I think they will sell really well.”

“Agreed! I’ll leave you to it, then. Same time next week?”

“Same time next week. See you, Emily.”

“Bye, Amanda.”

Amanda did her best not to think of Snow on the drive home and mostly succeeded. She sat down at her computer and started designing her greeting cards with the new photos.

After about ten minutes, she realized that she had stopped and was simply staring at the photos, remarking internally over how beautiful they were.

Amanda looked again at the photo of her in the snow by the trees. She went to her Tinder profile and updated it as her profile photo. Maybe she’d have more luck with a more attractive photo of her as her profile.

Things without Nicole were calmer and better in many ways, but Amanda was lonely. She had her business, and that was enough to sustain her, but she wanted more.

She suddenly thought again of Snow and wondered if she was on Tinder. Amanda shut down that thought at once. There were plenty of women around, women who didn’t set her teeth on edge just by their mere existence.

She scrolled through Tinder for a few minutes, but didn’t find any likely matches, not that that was a surprise. Amanda was very picky when it came to potential partners.

She closed down Tinder and focused once more on her greeting cards. She was already getting positive feedback on her website about the photos of her trees. Amanda received a couple of email enquiries about purchasing trees, which she answered before returning to designing the cards.

Thoughts of Nicole and Snow faded as she focused on making the best greeting cards she could. She would outshine Snow with her spectacular cards. Amanda would see to it.

Snow knew that this was probably a bad idea, but she was here now, so she may as well stay.

She had driven several areas over to do her grocery shopping in the mall nearest Amanda’s house. It was stupid, but she was hoping to see Amanda again.

Amanda hadn’t responded to Snow’s email, but Snow was sure she had seen the photos by now. She wasn’t expecting Amanda to thank her, not after her awful attitude yesterday, but Snow still found herself wanting to see Amanda again, regardless of whether she would receive any gratitude.

So, here she was, buying ridiculously expensive groceries all in a pathetic attempt to spot the subject of her crush.

Snow looked around as she walked, but didn’t spot Amanda anywhere. She was just about to give up when she saw a flash of red.

Amanda was wearing the same coat she had worn yesterday. She was just getting into her car, and Snow hurried to catch up to her.

“Amanda!”

Amanda was just closing her door and didn’t appear to hear Snow. Snow sighed in defeat as Amanda drove away.

“Did you want to speak to Amanda?”

She turned to an unfamiliar woman exiting the café behind them.

“Oh, hi. I just saw her and wanted to say hello, that’s all.”

“I’m Emily, Amanda’s friend.” Emily stuck out her hand, which Snow shook.

“I’m Snow.”

Emily’s eyes widened. “Snow. I see.” Emily looked her up and down.
