Dallas had said something, but I didn’t process what it was. I was too preoccupied with the vision that stood in front of me for my ears to work well.

She rolled her eyes and opened the door wider, stepping out of the way to let the three of us through. We filed inside, and though I regretted pulling my attention away from something so magnificent as Cassidy’s curves covered in bubbles, I knew now wasn’t the time to get caught up in her. We had work to do, the fantasy could wait.

For a little while, at least.

I sniffed the air as I stepped deeper into the room. I could only pick up Cassidy’s scent which, was a great sign. Things were off to an all-right start.

The door to the room slammed shut with a resounding boom seconds before Cassidy’s still naked, dripping wet form stormed into the room, and the three of us took our seats. I sat on the bed, in my normal spot, resting my back against the headboard. Dallas took his post at the sliding glass door, and Steel sat in a chair next to the table.

“I hope you three know you’re interrupting my important bath time,” Cassidy snapped. “This had better be life or death.”

Dallas snorted.

Steele said, “It could be.”

I gestured to the bed and said, “Come take a seat.”

“I’m fine with standing,” she said. “Now spit it out. I want to finish my bath before the water gets too cold.”

“We have some news to share. That bath can wait,” I said.

She glared at me. “This had better be worth it.”

I almost chuckled. She was cute when she was angry.

“Once you hear what we have to say, you’ll forget all about the bath,” Steele said.

“I hope you’re right. And since you are already here, I have some news of my own I want to share as well,” she said, sounding slightly calmer. As she walked to the bathroom, she added, “You start.”

I nodded and pulled out my phone as she came around the corner, covered with the bathrobe. I fought off the frown that pulled on my lips and said, “You may want to come closer.”

She rolled her eyes and stepped closer to me. Once she stood next to me, I angled my phone toward her, zooming in on the pictures I had captured of her ex-boyfriend.

“That’s Xander,” she said, bending forward to get a closer look.

“Do you know the men he’s standing there with?” I asked.

She shrugged. “You mean the people standing around him?”

She met my gaze and I nodded.

“None of them look familiar to me, why?” she asked.

“Because they were standing with him. Not around him. It was only meant to appear that way.”

“Well, I don’t recall having ever seen them before,” she said.

I flipped through a few of the pictures until I got to the one with Charlotte and Xander, covertly talking to each other.

“That bitch,” she breathed out.

I smirked. “That’s about what I thought too.”

“I’m sure it was,” Dallas muttered, casting a sideways glare at me.

I frowned at him. “Anyway, I believe she hired the men to protect Xander, or they are there to help him do something Charlotte had set up.”

Cassidy shook her head. “I don’t believe this.”
