His hungry eyes never strayed from me.

“You’re getting in?”

He nodded.

“Even though baths are just sitting in your own filth?”

His boxers hit the ground, and he stalked over to the tub. “I will happily sit in your filth.”

A chill ran down my spine—he was about to fuck me up.

The water sloshed around as he joined me. Once he was in, he got on his hands and knees, crawling over me until I was pressed against the tub. “Hold on to the sides,” was the only warning I got before his head disappeared below the bubbles and his mouth attached to my clit, his fingers sliding into me, moving furiously. First two, then three, all while his mouth worked my clit until I shook. His hand gripped my ass, pushing my pussy more into his face, and then moved behind me. A finger massaged my ass, and I jerked in his hold. Pressing back, it slipped in, adding just the right amount of pressure to shatter me completely.

I reached blindly under the water and grabbed a handful of Luca’s hair, pulling him out. He gasped, bubbles clinging to his hair and chin, but he didn’t seem worse for the wear.

“What the fuck was that?” I panted.

“Just trying something.” He smiled down at me, brushing the hair from my cheek.

“My turn.” I pushed him back, climbing on his legs, ready to test my own lung capacity.

I bet I can beat his time.

THREE

It only took my mom and Rosa three weeks to plan the engagement party. I was impressed and horrified when the day after our family dinner, they sent me a mockup invitation to a close, intimate gathering of one hundred people the weekend before Valentine’s Day. They’d created multiple binders of wedding ideas and assured me I wouldn’t have to lift a finger.

I’d hope fucking not, considering I didn’t want any of the things they deemed “necessary.”

“Can you zip me up?”

Luca came out of the bathroom in just a pair of black boxer briefs, drying his hair with a towel. Le sigh. The majesty of the wash and go. Of course, I’d spent a few hours primping and preening to make sure I was ready for the grotesque display of pomp and circumstance our moms had put together. But it is what it is.

Tossing the towel in the laundry basket, he joined me at the mirror. He ran a knuckle up my spine to the base of my neck, where he placed a kiss. His lips brushed the shell of my ear as he murmured, “You look beautiful.”

“Thank you.” I smiled at him in the mirror. “Have you heard from your guy Chase about my car? I’m getting a little tired of being carted around by Pete.”

Luca dragged the zipper up, his body crowding me. “He called this morning while you were out. It looks like your little electric car is totaled.”

“Great. Did he say what happened?”

Luca’s jaw tensed, but then his face relaxed into a pleasant smile. “Your car was old, and your brakes were worn. You’re lucky it didn’t happen on the highway.”

“Small blessings,” I muttered as I fussed with the top of my dress.

Luca’s eyes followed the path of my fingers as I moved the clasp of my necklace. “You ready for tonight?”

I sighed. “No. I know it’s going to be over the top. Your mom sent over the menu, and my mom sent over the flower arrangements. Spoilers, it’s a mini wedding.”

“Maybe we can just get married tonight.” Luca squeezed my hips before he went into the closet, leaving me to fret alone.

“Could we?”

Poking his head out, he smiled. “Of course not. At least with everything going on with the Chronis family, the engagement party will be small.” I rolled my eyes, and he laughed, popping back into the closet. “You’re marrying into a family with a lot of traditions. What would it look like if Luca Moretti eloped?” He walked out, unzipping the garment bag that held his suit. “Unfortunately, this wedding isn’t really about us.”

“Romantic.” I sunk into the chair at my vanity.

Luca looked up from where he smoothed his jacket on the bed. “I know.” Rounding the post, he knelt before me, taking my hands in his. “I promise you that the honeymoon will be all about us.”
