Luca’s shoulders sagged as he turned toward me. “No, you’re not going anywhere. Adriana’s a worrier.” Lacing his fingers with mine, he led me inside. “She’ll get over it.”

“Did I do something? She’s only met me once.”I didn’t like the idea of being perceived as a problem.

Stopping abruptly, he twisted toward me. “You didn’t do anything. Adriana has her own baggage she’s putting on us.” He gave my lips a peck. “Let’s try not to let her ruin our night.”

His fingers squeezed mine, and I nodded. I didn’t want to dwell on Adriana, so I would try to enjoy the evening.

Luca’s crooked grin made my heart race. I loved everything about his face. Going to my tiptoes, I gave the tiny scar near his eyebrow a kiss.

“What’s a girl got to do for a glass of wine?”

Doing a little bow, Luca waved his hand toward the kitchen. “This way, madam.”

I chuckled as I sashayed past him, but I didn’t make it far before his hands pulled my hips into him.

“This dress is amazing,Sasha.” Luca’s full lips brushed against my ear, his hard body pressing into my backside.

“Thanks, Luca, but if you don’t let me go, we won’t make it to dinner.”

His hands tightened before letting me go. “You’re right. Whosestupid idea was this?”

Moving away from him, I tossed my hair over my shoulder. “Your’s,genius, but I’m holding you to it.”

I hopped up on a stool, flashing a good amount of thigh, and Luca groaned, “Stupidest man alive.”He set a full glass of red down in front of me. “It should only be another few minutes before dinner is ready.”

Luca bent over and checked the oven.

What a sight.

His slacks showcased his ass in a way that made me want to send a thank-you note to the designer. The man could dress, but the body underneath could wear anything. I couldn’t wait until after dinner, when I could tear his clothes off and get reacquainted with every inch of his delicious body. My cheeks heated, so I took a sip of wine, my eyes not leaving the glorious view in front of me.

“Are you staring at my ass?”

“Yes.”

Without looking back at me, he said. “Good. I’d hate to be the only one without eye control.”

We both laughed as he plated the food. It was amazing to watch him work with such precision.

“Why don’t you go have a seat at the table? I’ll be right in.”

Walking into the adjoined dining room, I shook my head. Flower petals circled the table, and candles covered every surface. This motherfucker was going to get it once we ate his probably perfect meal.

I stood there, trying to figure out what I’d done to deserve this, and Luca nearly bumped into me, carrying our plates.

He set them down, his face scrunching up. “Is it too much?” I didn’t answer. His eyes scanned the room, never looking me in the face. If he had, he would’ve seen how big my smile was. “I wanted tonight to be special. You’re amazing, and I want this to be amazing.”

I grabbed his face and crushed my lips onto his. It took a beat, but then his hands cupped my ass, his tongue exploring my mouth. Pressing my body against his, I trailed my fingers up his neck and pulled at his earlobe. He groaned but broke our kiss.

We were both panting. The difference was that while I was smiling, Luca was straight-faced.

“Sasha, sit.”

Pulling out a chair, he waited for me to sit. I watched with rapt attention as he shook out a napkin and placed it on my lap, his fingers grazing my exposed thigh. He was hell-bent on dinner proceeding as planned.

Taking his seat, he took a sip of wine.

We ate in silence. The egg raviolo first course and steak main were delicious, but Luca’s throat moving as he swallowed was even more delectable. Every bite was slow, deliberate, and maddening. The pink of his tongue peeked out, slowly dragging across his full bottom lip, collecting a small drop of wine. His fingers traced his wineglass, and I could almost feel them skating down my sides. Those brown eyes consumed me from across the table, making me shift in my seat.
