I parted my legs slightly, and he growled against my skin, silently demanding I opened them wider. When I did, I was rewarded with his fingers between my soft folds, causing me to cry out. Matt didn’t say a word. Instead, he cupped my ass cheeks with his hands, pulling me against his face. His tongue found my clit, circling and flicking until my hips bucked with need. I wrapped my fingers around the back of his head, feeling the delicious burn of his stubble covered scalp against my fingers as I pushed him harder against me, greedily searching out my release.
The intensity of his touch became too much and my orgasm exploded, my vision blurring and my body screaming out for him to be buried deep inside me.
He paused, his lips against my folds. “Don’t hide from me, Rogue. Not ever. I want to see every scar, every fear, every insecurity, every hope and dream for the future. I want you to let me see your soul. Promise me you won’t hide anything from me.”
I arched my back, missing his mouth on my clit. “I promise. I promise I won’t hide from you.”
“Good. Because I love every part of you. Even the parts you hate or think are broken. I would happily have died in that river knowing you were safe, and I’d had a chance to love you.”
With those words, the tears started falling again and my body shook, battered by the emotions flowing through me. Matt stood, his lips glistening with my arousal.
“Come to bed with me, Rogue. This old man is a bit broken at the moment, so I want to make love to you slowly and then fall asleep buried in your pussy.”
I held out my hand, wrapping my fingers in his, but before we moved, I placed his hand over my heart.
“Don’t ever leave me. Promise me. I don’t want to live in a world where you’re not by my side. What you said about the river… I couldn’t have lived with myself if you’d died saving me. Don’t do that again.”
“Save you?”
“Put yourself in danger for me.”
“It’s my job.”
“Not anymore. You’re sacked.”
He lifted our joined hands to his lips. “We’ve had this conversation, Rogue. I don’t work for you. You can’t sack me.”
“But I can’t have you dying for me, or taking a knife for me, or hunting down stalkers.”
“Can we talk upstairs?”
I noticed the color has drained from his face and a light sheen of sweat was covering his head.
“Come on. Bear, I think you’ve had too much excitement for one night.”
Chapter 29
Matt
Iletherleadme up the stairs, my legs feeling weak and my eyelids heavy with exhaustion. The doctor had warned me this would happen and to take things easily, but I hadn’t believed him.
“Do you want a shower, maybe a bath, or just sleep?”
“What I want is to continue what I started downstairs so I can feel you come on my tongue again, but I’m scared I might fall asleep and drown in your pussy.”
“Nice!”
“Sorry, but it wouldn’t be the worst way to go.”
“Shush. It’s too soon for jokes about dying. Lay down. Let’s sleep,” she instructed, helping me into bed. She moved to the other side, laying down next to me, curling into my side.
I don’t know how long we lay there with me spooning her, but I heard Frankie’s voice.
“Matt,” she whispered. “Are you asleep?”
I wanted to tell her I wasn’t, but I was so close to nodding off that I couldn’t reply.
“I want you to quit your job. I’m so scared I’ll lose you. Too many bad things have happened already. I’m terrified.”
