Jake brought me to this party, getting me all drunk with cute cocktails he made me, and then guess what? Yep, he disappeared again. I could be getting screwed by my teacher right now but instead, I’m here, looking for my boyfriend.

Macy grabs my arm, bringing me in for a drunk hug. “Callum!” she sings in my ear. She pulls back, taking a shot as Bethany walks up, smiling as she waves her hands in the air to a song. “Bethy!” Bethany makes a gag face at Macy’s nickname.

“Cal.” The snake-like voice comes from behind me. Turning over my shoulder, I see Jennifer smirking at us.

“I’m too drunk to pretend to be nice,” I announce, walking to go find my boyfriend.

I hear Macy in a fit of giggles behind me. I smile as I walk into the house. Seeing one of Jake’s friends, Brock, a player on the football team, I wave him over. He smiles, dimple on his left cheek poking out as he looks down at me. “What’s up, Callum?”

“Yeah, have you seen my boyfriend? He’s better than Harry Houdini, apparently.”

He rubs the back of his neck, looking around. “Upstairs, I think.”

I pat his strong chest. “Thanks.” I take the stairs two at a time. Swinging open the first door, I get a pillow chucked at my face. “Sorry,” I squeak, heading to the next door. Swinging it open, I’m assaulted with marijuana smoke. Coughing, I shut the door quickly. The third and fourth rooms are empty. Beds still made and everything.

At the last door, I stop, pressing my ear to the door. I can hear groans and moans, and my heart races. I just want to take a peek. Opening the door, I freeze, my eyes wide. Jake lays over Josh, body pushing into his from behind as sweat drips down their toned, tanned bodies. Their muscles flex with each thrust. Jake lays bite marks on Josh’s neck. I gasp, the noise making Jake’s lust-filled eyes fall to the door. And then they widen. “Shit,” he whispers, slowly removing his mouth from Josh’s body.

I take a step back, shutting the door quickly. I run down the hall, taking the stairs two at a time, not stopping until I’m outside. I take in a lungful of air, a laugh choking out of me.

“Callum,” Jake’s voice is right behind me, so I turn to face him, another laugh breaking through.

“I… Yeah.” I nod. Because what can I say?

“Listen.” He rubs both hands through his hair. “I was going to tell you.”

“Were you? You know what?” I sigh, taking a step back from him. “It’s fine. I’m not even mad. I just wish you would have told me the truth.”

He scoffs, “Like how you were going to tell me you are fucking our government teacher?”

I freeze. “What?”

“You think I don’t know what face you make when you come? I’ve seen it a couple of times, babe.”

“I… fine. But I haven’t fucked him… just let him get me off in front of the whole class.” I groan. “But, Jake, that was once. Is this the reason you disappeared so many times?”

He bites his lip, eyes looking away. “Yeah.”

“Why didn’t you just tell me? Why make me your girlfriend if…” I sigh. “Are you ashamed of yourself, Jake?”

He looks to the ground. “No, but my father is. He may have caught me with another man at the start of summer and threatened me with reform camp.”

“That bastard.” I walk up to Jake, wrapping my arms around his neck as he buries his head in the crook of mine. “You should have told me.”

“I know.” He kisses my shoulder, squeezing me tighter. “I need to ask you something, though.”

“Can’t be more shocking than my night already. Hit me with it.”

He laughs. “Will you still be my girlfriend? I need my dad to believe it, or…” he trails off.

“Of course.” I squeeze him tighter. “It explains so much, though,” I breathe out.

He leans back, peering down at me. “Explains what?”

“Why you could never get me off.”

His lip twitches, and we burst out laughing. “Yeah, I have no clue what I’m doing down there.

I groan, pinching his shoulder. “And you were such a good kisser too.”
