He blinks at me.
“Like when you were chosen to paint the poster in kindergarten for Memorial Day, remember? You wanted it to be perfect and you were worried when your paint got a little smudged that your teacher wouldn’t want to use it?”
“Yeah,” he says with a nod.
“That’s nervous, buddy.”
He stares at me, his face so full of innocence and happiness that he calms my nerves completely. He is the finest best man I could have ever asked for.
And as if I wasn’t already enough of a trembling mess today, he wraps his little arms around my neck, presses his lips to my ear and whispers. “Don’t worry, Dad. I got you.”
Chapter1
Lucia
Taking Jax’s hand, I climb out of the car and step onto the runway. Glancing up at the private jet, I see it’s not my father’s, or my grandfather’s either. Technically they belong to Montoya Inc, but my Papa and Grandpa are the company. The rest of the family can use them whenever we want though, and even before he married me, Jax was considered one of the family.
I arch an eyebrow at my new husband. “Don’t tell me you’ve bought a plane now too?”
He shakes his head, a twinkle in his eye as he laughs softly. “No. I borrowed this one, because I’m not taking my wife on honeymoon in her father’s plane.”
“Why not?” I whisper, even though I know the answer. At least I hope I do.
One of my father’s men is unloading our bags beside us, so Jax bends his head close to mine. His lips brush over my ear, making goosebumps break out all over my body. “Because I’m going to fuck his daughter in it. In fact, I’m gonna make her come so hard…”
“Is there anything else you need me for, Mr. Decker?” Raoul our driver asks, interrupting the moment.
Jax’s hand coasts down my back until he slides it around my waist, pulling me against him as he straightens up. “No thanks. I’ve got everything I need right here,” he replies before giving me a cheeky wink and I swear my ovaries just exploded.
“Have a good trip,” Raoul says with a polite nod of his head. He is a man of few words.
“Thanks, Raoul,” I reply with a smile.
“Let’s get you on that plane then,” Jax says before slapping my ass and making me squeal like an excitable teenager.
When we board the plane, the first thing I see is the bottle of champagne in a bucket of ice, white rose petals scattered all over the seats, and a huge gold foil sign that says ‘Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Decker’.
“Oh wow! I love it so much.” I clasp my hands together and suppress a squeak of excitement. I swear I’m going to need some of that champagne to calm my nerves. We got married ten hours ago in the most perfect wedding in the history of weddings, and I don’t think I’ve eaten or stopped smiling since. The whole day has been perfect from start to finish.
“I think your mom and Jessie planned it,” Jax says as he smiles too.
“Aw. That is so sweet,” I feel warmth coiling up my spine. I have never felt so loved in my whole life as I have today. I only met Jessie Ryan yesterday. She’s a computer genius just like Jax, but she has a wicked sense of humor too. I love her and have already decided she’s going to be my friend forever, and the fact that her and my mom arranged this is making me feel all choked up.
I place my hands on his face and pull him to me for a kiss. He palms my ass, squeezing possessively and his stubble tickles my lip, both of which make me giggle. He was clean-shaven for our wedding, but this man can grow a beard in a day, and I much prefer him with a bit of scruff on his face.
“We’ll be taking off in ten minutes,” a soft voice says behind us and I blush as I realize the stewardess is standing right behind us.
Less than five minutes later,I’m sitting down with a glass of ice cold champagne in my hand and looking up at my incredibly handsome husband as he buckles my seatbelt for me. His warm hand glides over my abdomen making my insides turn to jelly. My breath hitches in my throat and he must hear it because he gives me a wicked grin.
“Thank you,” I whisper. “you always take such good care of me.”
“And I always will, baby,” he replies, the deep timbre of his voice penetrating my bones and making me shiver. The he kisses my forehead softly. “I’ll take real good care of you once we’re in the air. Okay?”
“Hmm,” I murmur, taking a sip of my champagne as I notice the stewardess watching us again.
As soon aswe are in the air and the plane has leveled out, Jax unclips his seatbelt and jumps up from his seat. He reaches down and unfastens mine too. “Come with me, Mrs. Decker,” he says with a wicked grin.
“Where are we going?” I say, biting on my lip as anticipation, nerves and excitement flutter in my stomach, all vying for space.
